A lot of people wonder how to tell if something like this is real gold or not, and that’s where simple tests can come in. One classic check is “The Water Test,” where real gold, being dense, will sink immediately to the bottom while lighter, fake materials may float or settle more slowly. Another common question is, “Can you test gold with a magnet?” The answer is no—real gold is not magnetic, so if a piece sticks to a magnet, it’s not pure gold. A lot of my followers have been asking about how rare gold in quartz is and how to spot it in quartz veins. Gold in quartz is pretty rare, it happens when gold gets trapped in quartz during hydrothermal activity, which is why it's so prized by collectors. If you're trying to spot a quartz vein with gold, look for little flecks or streaks of gold, but keep in mind, not all gold is visible. Checking areas where there's been geological activity or past mining (which is what i am doing) is your best bet for finding it. You can also use a metal detector or test samples to be sure there’s gold in the quartz.
