Indian pianist and composer UTSAV LAL is widely regarded as the rarest of pianists for his original interpretation of Indian Classical Music on a Western instrument. Lal has toured across the world and presented his ground-breaking work on the piano at leading venues including Carnegie Hall, Southbank Centre, Kennedy Center, Steinway Hall, Asia Society, Arts Center Melbourne.
Often known as ‘Raga Pianist’, Lal’s impressive career began at the age of nine and his unique voice on the piano has carved an enviable reputation as a concert pianist and a collaborator with internationally recognised artists/projects.With unfailing clarity of technique and rhythmic virtuosity, his music is highly acclaimed for its sincerity, depth, and powerful intensity.
Recognised as Young Steinway Artist, TiE Aspire Young Indian Achiever, Yamaha Jazz Scholar, Utsav LAL is the first and the only pianist to have recorded and released a historic world’s first album on the microtonal “Fluid Piano”.
