One of the first questions I get from new clients–Ozeal—Audio or Video?

It’s easy to get caught up in the allure of video, but there’s something incredibly powerful about audio-only podcasts.

Why?
Simplicity: No cameras or lighting—just a mic and your message.
Accessibility: Your audience can listen while commuting, exercising, or working.
Intimacy: Audio allows you to build a deeper, more personal connection with your listeners.

But of course, video podcasts have seeped into the hearts of new podcasters and are more popular than ever. No doubt–having a video element to your show has its own set of advantages— marketing expansion, YouTube discoverability/SEO, and a great way to build your personal brand šŸŽ„

But, which format is right for your podcast? The answer may surprise you.

Just dropped a new podcast episode where I break down the pros and cons of audio vs video podcasts and share why maybe…just maaaaybe doing both could be the move.

If you’re navigating this decision or want to take your podcast to the next level, click the video and comment your thoughts.

Having a podcast isn’t impressive anymore.

Everyone’s got a mic and a hot take.

I’ve lost count of how many DMs I’ve gotten from people hyping their ā€œgame-changingā€ show... with no real message, no clear audience, and a Canva cover that just says ā€œPODCASTā€ with a mic slapped on it. Yikes.

Check it:

Very few shows actually stick.
If you’re trying to grow your podcast and your brand…
šŸ‘‰ Your content probably isn’t the problem.
šŸ‘‰ Your packaging and positioning are.

"Whatcha talkin’ about, Willis?"

Let me break it down:
— What’s the transformation your show delivers?
— Who’s it really for?

Example:
I love the podcast Ask Your Work Wife, hosted by two friends Holland Hettinger and Vanessa Oler (Highly recommended)

Who’s it for?

ā€œAmbitious women who want more out of corporate America.ā€

Clear. Targeted. Sticky rice. šŸ˜Ž

Why should anyone hit play on your show instead of the 40 others who dropped this morning?

What makes your voice, your format, and your vibe different?

And, yes, consistency matters but I find the podcasters who win in 2025 aren’t ā€œjustā€ doing the thing.

They’re clear, strategic, and bold enough to stand for something and bring something.

ā€¼ļø Don’t just publish.
āœ… Package. Position. And show up with STYLE.

I’ve learned that the MOST transformative thing you can do as a creator isn’t about buying the latest gear or mastering complex editing techniques.

In my latest podcast episode, I break down how this one thing can change the way you create content.

Also, would love to hear your thoughts so drop me a comment.

Cheers!
