The Ruth Institute is building an Interfaith Coalition to defend the family.
Marriage & Family are universal - Everyone comes into the world as a helpless baby. Everyone has a Mom and a Dad, and every society has a responsibility to its children.
We believe the best for children is Mothers and Fathers who cooperate in a lifelong union of love, surrounded by a culture that respects and supports these aspirations.
The evidence is on our side! Follow the Ruth Institute --You can count on the Ruth Institute to know what they're talking about, and you can count on Doctor "J" to help you put your faith into action and make a difference!

Same-sex attraction is a longing to know yourself. This happens in the discussion of gay Christian versus straight Christian, which leaves out a very important realization: the life and blessings God has for us when we let him heal us. Having been a gay Christian before completely giving her life to Christ, Christie May Jesse understands the struggle. “At the core of same-sex attraction, lies a longing to know oneself, to belong,” she explains, but what they’re doing is refusing to give up a part of themselves to God. They’re choosing to hold onto their struggles because it’s more comfortable than facing the pain head-on and learning to let go.
In the 1980’s, Christie went to Stanford as a man-hating, open lesbian. Her rowing coach was an avowed Christian, and a conflict was pretty much inevitable. Christie decided that she would only provoke her coach a little and jokingly asked if she knew of any good bible study groups. Her coach cheerfully obliged. When she knocked on the door for the study group, she was met by another girl who asked her, “Are you a man hater like the rest of us?” That question set Christie on a year’s long quest to deal with her same-sex attraction, the deeper roots of it, the abuse she endured, and even the misogynist atmosphere she was raised in.

Over 80% of the "man-haters" in Christie's Bible study group at Stanford had experienced sexual abuse, including Christie. And the sisterhood that developed among them was something she had never experienced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHjr8...

The Ruth Institute upholds the ancient Christian teachings about marriage, family, and human sexuality. These teachings are today sometimes regarded as exclusively “Catholic,” but in fact, Judaism, and most Christian groups, historically taught many of the same things. The Ruth Institute works with individuals and groups, religious or otherwise, who share our views, in whole or in part, regardless of their positions on other issues.

In an age where many women have decided that having children is not worth it, there are women all around the country who have decided to have more children. Catherine Pakaluk, an economist and director of Social Research at the Catholic University, recently asked the question why do these women decide to have more children? She traveled across the country and spoke with 55 women, all of whom had 5 or more children, to find out why they decided to have more children. Her new book, "Hannah's Children: the Women Quietly Defying the Birth Dearth," contains her research and stories of the women she interviewed.
