𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙗-𝙚-𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩 𝙈𝙪𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙠 ❤💫

Shab-e-Barat, also known as 𝙇𝙖𝙮𝙡𝙖𝙩-𝙪𝙡-𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖’𝙖𝙩 or the 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, is a significant observance in the Islamic month of Sha'ban (the 15th night). It is widely regarded as a night of divine mercy when Allah decides the 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙮 of all creatures for the coming year.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙃𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙗-𝙚-𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩 ??

Muslims believe several spiritual events occur during this night:
𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩: It is believed that Allah descends to the lowest heaven at sunset and asks His servants if anyone is seeking forgiveness, sustenance, or relief from affliction to grant it to them.
𝘿𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙮: Many traditions hold that on this night, Allah writes the records for the next year, including who will be born, who will die, and how much sustenance (rizq) each person will receive.
𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨: According to hadith, Allah forgives a vast number of people on this night, with the exception of those who associate partners with Him or harbor malice toward others.
𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝘿𝙤 𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙉𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩...??
While there are no compulsory rituals, common voluntary acts of worship include:
𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 (𝙏𝙖𝙬𝙗𝙖𝙝): Seeking forgiveness for past sins with the intention of leading a better life.
𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙨 (𝙉𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙛𝙞𝙡): Performing extra prayers at night, such as 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙩-𝙪𝙡-𝙏𝙖𝙨𝙗𝙞𝙝 or generic nafl units.
𝙌𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: Reading the Holy Quran, with many choosing to recite 𝙎𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙝 𝙔𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙣.
𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙮𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨: To follow the example of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), many visit cemeteries to pray for their deceased loved ones.
𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 (𝙎𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙦𝙖𝙝): Giving to the poor is highly encouraged as a means of spiritual purification.
𝙁𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜: It is recommended to fast on the day following the night (the 15th of Sha'ban).

𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝘿𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨: While many communities in South Asia and Southeast Asia celebrate with lights and sweets like 𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖, some scholars caution against such cultural innovations (bid'ah) and advise focusing strictly on individual worship.
