Task Day 38: "The only limit to our realization of tomorrow is our doubts of today." — Franklin D. Roosevelt

"The only limit to our realization of tomorrow is our doubts of today."* This quote reminds us that our biggest obstacle is often not the challenges around us, but the doubts within us. When we believe in our abilities, take action, and stay focused on our goals, we unlock opportunities that once seemed impossible. Confidence grows through effort, and every small step we take today brings us closer to a brighter tomorrow. Don't let fear hold you back. Believe in yourself, embrace challenges, and keep moving forward with courage.

Day 39

Week 5

Topic Day 39: Mulla Nasruddin and the Emperor’s Dinner Invitation

# Day 39: Mulla Nasruddin and the Emperor’s Dinner Invitation

One day, a powerful emperor invited the richest and most respected people of the city to a grand dinner at his palace. Surprisingly, Mulla Nasruddin also received an invitation.

On the evening of the dinner, Mulla arrived wearing his old, simple clothes. The palace guards looked at him and laughed. They thought he was just a poor man trying to enter the royal feast.

“You cannot go inside dressed like this,” one guard said rudely.

Mulla quietly turned around and went home. After some time, he returned wearing an expensive robe, shiny shoes, and a beautiful turban. This time, the guards immediately bowed and welcomed him with great respect.

Inside the palace, delicious food was served on golden plates. But instead of eating, Mulla started putting food into the sleeves of his robe.

The emperor noticed this strange behavior and asked, “Mulla, what are you doing?”

Mulla calmly replied, “Your Majesty, it seems the invitation was not for me. It was for my clothes. So I am feeding the robe because it is receiving all the respect.”

The emperor felt embarrassed and understood the lesson immediately. From that day onward, he reminded everyone in his palace to respect people for their character, not their appearance.

## Moral:

True respect should be given to a person’s character, not to their clothes or wealth.

# Day 39: The Importance of a Single Thought: A Tale of Mulla Nasruddin

One peaceful evening, Mulla Nasruddin was sitting outside his small house, quietly watching the sunset. A young student came to him and asked, “Mulla, how can one person change their life when problems are everywhere?”

Mulla smiled but said nothing. Instead, he handed the student a small seed and pointed toward the dry ground nearby.

“Plant this,” he said.

The student looked confused. “This tiny seed cannot change anything,” he replied.

Mulla laughed softly and answered, “Every huge tree begins with one small seed. In the same way, every great success begins with one single thought.”

The student planted the seed. Days passed, and he continued watering it carefully. Slowly, a small green plant appeared. Months later, it grew into a strong tree that gave shade and fruit to many people.

Mulla then said, “A single negative thought can destroy peace, but one positive thought can grow into wisdom, hope, and success. Never underestimate the power of one good idea.”

The student finally understood that even the smallest thought can change a person’s future if it is cared for with patience and belief.

Topic Day 38: How Mulla Nasruddin Tricked the Greedy Merchant

## Story: The Wise Mulla and the Foolish Neighbor

One afternoon, Mulla Nasruddin was sitting peacefully outside his house, reading a book under the shade of a tree. Suddenly, his neighbor came running and shouting in panic.

“My big water jar is broken!” the neighbor cried. “I spent all my money on it, and now everything is ruined!”

Mulla looked calmly at the broken pieces on the ground and asked, “How did it break?”

The neighbor lowered his head and said, “I was carrying it carelessly while arguing with someone. I didn’t pay attention and dropped it.”

Mulla smiled wisely and said, “A wise person thinks before acting. An angry and careless person acts first and regrets later.”

The neighbor understood his mistake. From that day on, he became more patient and careful in everything he did.

### Lesson:

Thinking calmly before acting can save us from regret and trouble.

Day 38

Week 5

Topic Day 38: The Wise Mulla and the Foolish Neighbor

## Story: How Mulla Nasruddin Tricked the Greedy Merchant

One day, a greedy merchant in the marketplace started charging people unfair prices for every little thing. He proudly said, “I sell everything by weight, and every grain costs money!”

Mulla Nasruddin decided to teach him a lesson.

Mulla bought a sack from the merchant and noticed it was half full of air. Smiling cleverly, he said, “If you charge by weight, then you must also charge for the air inside the sack!”

The merchant laughed nervously and replied, “But air cannot be sold!”

Mulla pointed at the sack and said, “Then remove the air and charge only for what is fair.”

The people in the market started laughing. The greedy merchant became embarrassed because everyone realized he was cheating customers.

From that day on, the merchant stopped overcharging people, and Mulla Nasruddin once again showed that wisdom is stronger than greed.

### Lesson:

Greed may win for a short time, but honesty and wisdom always win in the end.

Topic Day 34: The Weight of the Donkey: A Lesson from Mulla Nasruddin

## Story: The Weight of the Donkey

One day, Mulla Nasruddin was walking through the village with his donkey carrying heavy bags. A man saw him and asked, “Mulla, why don’t you ride the donkey instead of walking?”

Mulla smiled and replied, “If I ride the donkey, the donkey carries one heavy load. But if I walk beside it, we both share the journey.”

The man laughed and said, “But the donkey is still carrying the bags!”

Mulla answered wisely, “Yes, but kindness makes every burden feel lighter.”

The people around him became silent. They realized that helping others and sharing difficulties can reduce the weight of life.

### Lesson:

When people support each other, even the heaviest problems become easier to carry.

Topic Day 34: Mulla Nasruddin’s Astonishing Way to Prove a Point

## Day 34: Mulla Nasruddin’s Astonishing Way to Prove a Point

One sunny afternoon, the villagers gathered near the marketplace, arguing loudly about whether the old bridge outside the town was truly dangerous.

Some people said, “The bridge is weak! Nobody should cross it.”

Others replied, “No, no, it is perfectly safe. People are just exaggerating.”

As always, Mulla Nasruddin stood nearby, quietly listening with a smile on his face.

Finally, one villager turned to him and asked,
“Mulla, what do you think? Is the bridge dangerous or not?”

Mulla stroked his beard and said,
“There is only one way to find the truth.”

Before anyone could stop him, he walked straight toward the bridge with his donkey. The villagers watched nervously as the wooden bridge creaked loudly under every step.

Halfway across, one wooden plank snapped with a crack!

The crowd gasped.

But Mulla calmly returned to the other side and said,
“Now we do not need arguments anymore. We have proof.”

The villagers laughed, but they also understood his lesson.

Mulla smiled and said,
“Sometimes people argue for hours without checking the truth themselves.”
