Luminism

Got a lot of joy out of making this one.
Since covering every Frankenstein movie in one video would be nearly impossible (there are hundreds of them), I decided to start with the best — Hammer’s Frankenstein films.
This time I went through every movie they made, and even the unaired TV pilot from 1958.

📌If you’d like to support this video, don’t forget to leave a like or a Hype if that option’s available. Thanks!

Luminism

Haven’t done a Cover Star post in a while, so here’s a new one.
This time it’s Gabrielle Anwar — featured on the thumbnail for Every Invasion of the Body Snatchers Adaptation 👉 https://youtu.be/DD-q0IBJjoI

Anwar is probably best known for her role in Scent of a Woman (yes, the tango scene with Al Pacino), and for starring in the long-running series Burn Notice.

As promised, here is a collection of the extra recommendations you shared after the Jules Verne adaptations video. Some are direct adaptations, others are loose takes on Verne. Either way, it is a proper extended watchlist:

Around the World in 80 Days (1956)
Around the World in 80 Days (2004)
Around the World in 80 Days (TV miniseries, 1989, with Pierce Brosnan)
Five Weeks in a Balloon (1962)
From the Earth to the Moon (1958)
Those Fantastic Flying Fools (1967)
Valley of the Dragons (1961)
Michel Strogoff (1956)
Mathias Sandorf (TV series, 1979)
The Children of Captain Grant (1986, Soviet adaptation)
On the Comet (1970, Czech film)
The Mysterious Castle in the Carpathians (1981, Czech film)

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

📽️ New playlist on the channel: Adaptations www.youtube.com/playlist?list...

So far, I’ve covered:

Jules Verne
H. G. Wells
Stephen King
Philip K. Dick
Michael Crichton
H. P. Lovecraft

I’m also planning a video about Isaac Asimov’s adaptations. There aren’t that many to choose from, but he’s one of my favorite authors.

Who else would you like to see on this list?

Luminism

I’m putting together a list of the best sci-fi films from the 2000s, one for each year, as usual.
But I got stuck in 2004. If you had to pick just one film from that year, which one would it be?

Luminism

In this video we revisit some horror gems from the ’70s (including TV movies). Come watch and share your memories in the comments.

📽️ By the way, that’s Joan Prather on the thumbnail from The Devil’s Rain (1975). You might also remember her from Big Bad Mama (1974) and the sitcom Eight Is Enough (1977–81).

Demi Moore in Disclosure (1994).
It’s one of the movies mentioned here: 👉90s Virtual Reality Movies That Still Blow Minds https://youtu.be/qYrf9UfN1Xg

This video is open for Hype right now. It’s a new feature and I don’t fully understand how it works yet, but I want to test it out. If you see the option, I’d really appreciate it if you try it.

People online often talk about box office flops, but I love the success stories too. For example, Steven Spielberg made E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) for just $10.5 million, and it grossed around $792 million worldwide (including re-releases). It was the highest-grossing film of the decade and held the record until Jurassic Park (1993).

In a recent video, I looked at the biggest sci-fi box office hits of each year in the ’80s. You might find it interesting too: https://youtu.be/g0Xt5LwKQJ4
