Luminism

How do you feel about sci-fi rip-offs?
The new video is exactly on that topic, so before you answer, here’s your chance to revisit a few of the better ones.

⭐ And since the thumbnail is already here: a quick cover star shoutout — June Chadwick, whom you’ve seen in V (1984), Spinal Tap (1984), and of course Forbidden World (1982), which I talk about in more detail in the video.

A small November highlight for me was this two-part look at fantasy flops. The topic turned out way more fun than I expected.

Luminism

After the Halloween special, one of the viewers suggested a Christmas list, so let’s give it a try.

If there are Christmas or winter movies you revisit every year, in any genre, drop them in the comments. I’ll put everything together for the holiday video 🎄

Luminism

Thanks for all the video ideas you leave in the comments, this one came straight from there.
Full Moon’s history is much bigger than eight titles, of course, but I tried to pick films that show different sides of the studio.
Enjoy the video, and feel free to add more titles to the list.

Luminism

The latest video on the channel looks at Edgar Allan Poe adaptations, and it finally gave me a chance to talk about a few films I’ve never covered here before.

If you’re into literary adaptations in general, there’s also a playlist on the channel with 9 videos so far, all focused on different authors and the movies based on their work: www.youtube.com/playlist?list...

One time-travel movie in this list is… controversial (yes, the hot-tub one).
But what about the other nine?

Luminism

Someone in the comments already reminded me that falling into a black hole doesn’t magically turn you into a time-traveling ghost in your daughter’s bookcase. Fair point.

But let’s still take a look at how scientifically accurate these space movies are (and one very, very good series).

📽️ Cover Star

Today’s post is dedicated to Caroline Munro. She appears on the cover of the Great Fantasy Movies video (https://youtu.be/kSfZ-sp7sfo) thanks to her role in The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, where she plays Margiana, the slave girl with the all-seeing eye.

Munro became one of the most recognizable faces of 1970s genre cinema, starring in Dracula A.D. 1972, At the Earth’s Core, Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter, and later the cult horror Maniac.

“There were too many Draculas and not enough Frankensteins.”
That’s how Re-Animator began with Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton, and from there, Stuart Gordon made some of the best Lovecraft adaptations out there.

I’ve covered every one of his Lovecraft projects in this new video, including movies, TV, and his 2015 audio play The Hound.

Hope you enjoy it and have a good watch. 🎥

Luminism

It’s the very first Halloween on this channel, and this year’s special was built entirely from your picks.
Watch it here: https://youtu.be/0XbL2y1vkMw

And since even more great titles showed up in the comments, here’s a bonus list I’ve put together from your replies under the video.

Thanks again to everyone who shared their favorites.
Have a spooky night 👻
