I relate to this a lot, so I thought I would share this in case it resonates or is helpful or affirming for you. Between being empathic, neurodivergent, sensitive, and now health issues, sometimes life seems to force you to be by yourself to heal, regroup, and see who you are as a person outside of others. And what is right for us. ππ«Ά And it's not forever. As you get better and learn to set boundaries for what is right for your own needs and your life, you can better be out in the world when you do choose to, and hopefully not drain all the energy you have. It's discouraging and sometimes isolating and lonely. But I am trying to be positive and know maybe this is just for now. Not forever. π

As a neurodivergent person, do you have sensitive skin too? π€
Are you prone to skin allergies to products, metals, detergents, etc?
Or are you prone to stress rashes, outbreaks? From heat, anxiety or stress?
Are you prone to skin infections (could be bacterial or fungal)?
Or skin reactions to deodorants, products, or hot weather?
Viral reactions like shingles, hsv flares that might be more common during burnouts because chronic stress or anxiety etc? They can run down your immune system and make you prone to outbreaks or flares of different skin conditions.
You don't have to answer and reveal personal health information about yourself!
But I have been purging a lot of my products and dealing with my own skin issues. I had no idea that some of my products have been feeding into the problem while I am doing the work to heal my skin. So frustrating. :'(
Why do I bring this up?
The last few weeks as I have been going through this I have been talking to my therapist about the connection between ADHD &/ Autism, and skin issues.
Did you know there is a connection sometimes? For some of us, yes! π― So I thought this might be important to talk about here. What do you think? π€
My counselor and I have been talking about how skin issues seem to be more common with neurodivergent folks. So I was curious if that is something some of you struggle with as well? I would love feedback if this would be a helpful topic for you. Let me know!
I was thinking, I have been putting so much time and effort to create a protocol to help solve an ongoing issues I have and it's exhausting. Maybe someone else is too and I should talk about it here?
Since we never talk about these things, I was wondering if this would be helpful for others to talk about this topic on my channel? Would this be helpful for you?
If commenting is something you don't want to do because of privacy issues and personal nature of this topic, I totally understand! Feel free to "like" if that feels more anonymous for you.
I wasn't sure if I should talk about this and what products have been helping me lately, or if it is t.m.i.? No inappropriate intimate health topics with this one! Not at all. That is a separate topic! I am just taking about skin issues, in general! :) Let me know!
I have been doing all this work figuring out some of this on my own. And as someone who is a former beauty department manager with skin care training, and some healthcare background, if it is exhausting and complicated for me to seek solutions, it can't be easy for others either. So it could be beneficial?
I am not sure if this is too personal being health issue. But if more people who are neurodivergent are prone to these things vs neurotypical population, it might be a good conversation to have?
What do you think?

Hi everyone! π€π ππππ«Άπ₯° I have my first appointment tomorrow to discuss neuropsychological testing! Hooray! πππ»ππ©βπ€π§ββοΈ What is Neuropsychological Testing, or Assessment? π§ π€ It is a type of assessment that looks at your neurodivergent differences as a whole. So it isn't specific to just ADHD or Autism. But you can get diagnosed with either or both with one! As I learn more about this process, I will let you know and update you on my progress and journey! I will definitely do a video about this and let you know how it goes! :)
Sorry I have not been making as many videos lately. A combination of healing from burnout, ME/CFS, and skin issues is a lot. So I have been resting a lot, and trying to change my diet and skin care for my health and get better.
I started gradually increase activity this week by walking slowly around my house for a few minutes and doing some gentle stretching. Not pushing it!
As I get better and can do regular content again, you will see me more! :D πππ«Ά π₯° Thank you for being supportive and understanding of me. I really feel a lot of us end up in the same boat or similar situations at the different times. And that is the feed back I have received from some of you over the last 2 years. Love you all! I feel hopeful and that is huge! :) I am very grateful. π
Love, Sheri. :) π§ββοΈπ©βπ€ππ»π₯°π«ΆπππππΈ ps: (Reni says, "Hi"!) :D π»π«Άπ

Hi Everyone! π€ π π₯°ππ§ How are you today? I hope well! ππ Question for you, today!! ππ«Ά
This one is for my friends who are neurodivergent, (ADHD &/or Autists) who also have a chronic illness like ME/ CFS , a.k.a. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Or any illness they have to pace themselves as they get better, to not get sick again.
Here is an older video from Toby Morrison at CFS Health. I am trying to establish what my new baseline is and what activities I can do as I am getting better, and how much is too much.
Like everything, you have to feel it out.
Do you have an added layer of confusion and doubt if you don't know how to tell if you have done too much?
I question myself, because as someone with sometimes poor Interoception (ability to perceive messages from the body you are tired, hungry, etc.) How do you know where your energy level even is? This is common with Neurodivergence.
Another thing that complicated it is that, sometimes if you do too much, unlike autistic/ADHD Burnout, you don't have a crash that or the next day. With CFS, it might be a day or two delayed.
I don't know about you, but that poses a problem for my ADHD brain. π§ Lol! Delayed symptoms? I don't get it. And how would I know if it is delayed which it is from?
Have any of you had this experience? Comment below! π How do you find your baseline of your current level of activity you can do with your current state of health?
It's Beautiful outside, today! π I hope you are doing well, and taking good care of yourself. πππ«Άπ

For those that celebrate 4th of July this weekend, if you have elderly neighbors who can't participate anymore or family or friend who have become isolated from loss or disability, if you haven't made plans, pop by and say hi to give them a visit. :) 4th of July can be tough when families, friends, kids, couples go out together and have fun and others who might miss out feel left behind if it is meaningful to them. β€οΈππ«Ά
