Inspired by Retrontario and the other awesome folks who keep local histories alive through the sharing of old broadcast clips, this channel is home to the cache of clips from old VHS tapes in my parents' basement, mostly from Southwestern Ontario, national Canadian broadcast, and upstate New York in the 80s, 90s and early 00s. My parents worked in Canadian television in the 80s-90s, and I grew up in studios watching the magic. This channel is basically a love letter to the Canadian TV industry I grew up in.

This channel is not monetized; I make no profit here. All content is presented under fair dealing/fair use for education - as we move farther into the digital age so much is being lost, and my aim is to educate about the local histories and production practices of the past. No copyright infringement intended. All content is property of original copyright owners. Please inform me if you own the copyright to any video and would like it to be removed; I will gladly do so. Thanks!

Some Old Videos

I'm back! I mean, I've never really been gone, but after a bunch of computer trouble, finally have stuff working reliably again and now have a version of Premiere that uploads directly to YouTube, so hopefully uploads will be more regular.

Over the spring I inherited a bunch of tapes from my grandparents' place and scored a treasure trove from a local fella that I'm told contains a ton of Saturday Night at the Movies, so I'm excited to dive back in. Hope 2022 has treated you well.

Some Old Videos

Hey gang! Sorry I haven't been around much this past year, it's been a wild one.

I am thinking of changing the way I upload commercials in particular from uploading individual clips to full commercial breaks. Have to admit that when things hit the fan this year I got some weird comfort out of watching 70s/80s commercial breaks (even though I wasn't alive at the time!) What do you prefer?
