conscious of the vocation and mission for
which we have been consecrated in Christ, let
us invoke the Holy Spirit as we begin the new
academic year, so that the gifts poured out
generously upon us may continuously be
enriched as we journey along the path of true
discipleship.


Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for the GIFT OF WISDOM.


O God, in the folly of the cross you manifest the distance between the mind of Christ and the wisdom of this world, fill us with your holy light. May our lives mirror our love for you whose wisdom has brought us into being and whose care guides us on our way.


Let us pray to the Holy Spirit and beseech His GIFT OF UNDERSTANDING.

Father of love, hear our prayers. Help us to know your will and to do it with courage and faith. Instill in us the gift of understanding, that penetrating the depths of your word, we may experience its sweetness and strength.

Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for the GIFT OF COUNSEL.

O God, you have sent to us your Son, the Eternal Word, confirm us with your spirit of counsel in troubled times, the light of your guidance in suffering, the joy of your comfort in sorrow, and your friendship in solitude. And we pray that we may be ready to answer whoever should ask us by reason of the hope that is in us.

Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for the GIFT OF FORTITUDE.

O Father, You have revealed the unconquerable power of your love, through your Son confirm our hearts in fortitude that, animated by the Holy Spirit we may courageously fight the assaults of evil.

Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for the GIFT OF KNOWLEDGE.

Father, you call your children to walk in the light of Christ. Free us from darkness of ignorance and keep us in the radiance of your truth. Help us to be like your Son Jesus in word and deed, for He lives and reigns with you in the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.

Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for the GIFT OF PIETY.

Lord, our help and guide, make your love the foundation of our lives. May our love for you express itself in our eagerness to do good for others. Help us to seek the spiritual values that will bring us lasting joy in this changing world.

Let us pray to the Holy Spirit for the GIFT OF FEAR OF THE LORD

O God, Creator of the heavens and the earth, you who have called all into existence through your Word, pour out upon your Church the power of your Spirit. Help us to depart from the power of evil and cling on to your Divine Majesty. Forgive our failings, keep us in your peace and lead us in the way of salvation through the resurrection of your son, who lives and reigns forever and ever.

O God, of your mercies there is no number, and of your goodness the treasure is infinite; we render thanks to your most gracious majesty for the gifts you have bestowed upon us; evermore imploring your clemency, that as you grant the petitions of them that ask you, you may never forsake them, but may prepare them for the rewards to come.
