In 2016, I had collaborated with multiple Grammy winning musician Padma Shri Ricky Kej, for New Age arrangement on one of the songs from my third album 'Parallels' - Piya Na Mose Bole. A couple of years before we worked on this song, we were both emerging artists and Ricky had proposed that we should do a song together. However, by the time the song materialized, Ricky had already won a Grammy and I was doubtful whether he will honour his word or not. But Ricky is a man of his words and did the New Age arrangement for 'Piya Na Mose Bole' pro-bono as agreed, along with his fantastic support Vanil Veigas. Not only that, he introduced me to a fantastic singer Prajot D'Sa, who has sung the male part in this song. The album and the song were released audio only in 2016. Now Ricky has gone on to win two more Grammy awards, and has also been conferred the prestigious Padma Shri award! The long gap between the release of song and music video is because I had a storyline in mind for the song which could not materialize because of budget constraints, so I decided to make the music video using our recording footage from Ricky's studio. The music video for 'Piya Na Mose Bole' from my third album 'Parallels' is coming up shortly. I hope you all will like the song as much as we enjoyed making it!

टोरंटो में स्मॉल वर्ल्ड म्यूज़िक के संस्थापक एलन डेविस के निधन के बारे में जानकर बहुत दुख हुआ - एक ऐसा मंच जहाँ विश्व भर की विभिन्न संगीत शैलियों के कई अंतरराष्ट्रीय संगीतकारों ने टोरंटो के विश्व संगीत दर्शकों के लिए प्रदर्शन किया है। मैं स्वयं कई अवसरों पर स्मॉल वर्ल्ड म्यूज़िक के मंचों पर प्रस्तुति देने के लिए भाग्यशाली रही हूँ और एलन हमेशा मेरी सभी संगीत प्रयासों का समर्थन करते रहे हैं और जितना हो सका उन्हें बढ़ावा दिया है। वह एक सज्जन व्यक्ति और संगीत के सच्चे प्रेमी थे। उनकी कमी हमेशा खलेगी। यह टोरंटो वर्ल्ड म्यूज़िक परिवार के लिए एक बड़ी क्षति है। उनकी आत्मा को शांति मिले और उनके परिवार को इस कठिन समय से गुजरने का साहस मिले।

So sad and heartbroken to know about passing away of Alan Davis, the founder of Small World Music in Toronto - a stage where numerous international musicians of varying ethnicities have performed for the World Music audience of Toronto. I have myself been fortunate to perform on Small World Music stages at several occasions and Alan has always been supportive of all my musical initiatives and promoted them as much as he could. He was a kind soul and a true lover of music. He will be dearly missed. It is a big loss to Toronto World Music family. May he rest in peace and may his family find courage to live through this difficult time.
