There really is no "mental health" care in Canada and when people reach out for support they are overdiagnosed, labelled, stigmatized, and overmedicated with drugs, leading to disability and long term harm. Polypharmacy and prescribing cascades are common practice in psychiatry and everyone has a "diagnosis" so it's a Pharma goldmine. There are few resources, families and religious organizations did not pick up after institutions closed, drug addiction and homelessness are evident in our downtowns, and Pharma comes to the rescue with convenient long acting antipsychotic injections. These depot medical implants come with a long list of dose dependent side effects, dose dumping and potential for lethal drug interactions including anesthetic drugs. Side effects are often not recognized and treated with more neuroleptics, stimulants, SSRI's and benzodiazepines in prescribing cascades. This is very bad practice and the specialists receiving financial kickbacks and honorariums for prescribing these LAI's need to be called out.

@CBCNews … the Otsuka paid Ottawa lobbyist, the Pharma paid medical “experts”, the “thought leaders”, and IQVIA (formerly Quintiles) all need to be investigated, for corruption, and breach of ethics for a repatented drug that had a class action lawsuit when under Bristol Myers Squibb.
