Here is one simple and profound way to overcome procrastination. The secret is to overcome fear of decisions or the fear of failing or the fear of the unknown or any other label your mind would associate.
One of the main reasons, people tend to procrastinate among many possible reasons, is the apprehension of Failure...
What if i Fail, What if I flounder, What if i don't succeed?
And as they recursively play the images and movies that get thrown up in their minds, there is also an unconscious and deep absorption on the impacts of failure. Given the grip of these scenarios, the safest option out would be to not decide, to play it safe. It's often an unconscious decision to decide to "Not Decide". Why risk it at all?
The present is tolerable, who knows what the future brings in!!
Nothing wrong with approach per se!! But then however, its quite literally hell to live and deal with all the internal voices that keep pecking and hammering away within you...
An alternative would be to break the process, to break the loop one may have gotten entangled into. Not that you may succeed in the very first attempt. However, the real learning happens during the process of breaking the patterns, a lot of self discovery happens, and you get to know yourself better.
Its just like, if you keep swimming upwards from the depth of the ocean, sooner or later you will reach the oceanic surface and perspectives change!!
Act on the Fear of Uncertainty!! Act on the Fear of Apprehensions.
In the very action of yours, you have decided. In that very decision, you have achieved and you have moved forward. You are no longer stuck.
