The Shadow Child; A Poem by Carmela D'Amore

In corners where the lamplight fades,
Where secrets curl and dreams are piled,
A silent figure softly waits—
I forgot about the shadow child.
She tiptoes through the twilight gloom,
Her laughter lost, her whispers mild,
A mystery in every room—
Unnoticed walks my shadow child.
I forgot her gentle name,
Or why her eyes are deep and wild,
She’s just a flicker in the mirror frame—
A fleeting thought, my shadow child.
She waits for me to turn and see,
To seek her out, to reconcile
The hidden part of you and me
That longs to find our shadow child.
She lingers where the story starts,
With hope and longing, undefiled,
She waits in quiet, shadowed hearts—
The waiting, watching shadow child.
So, look beyond the edge of light,
Where wonder lives and fears are filed,
Perhaps you’ll find her in the night—
The softly waiting shadow child.

The Lost Soul: A Poem by Carmela D'Amore

The soul is sad, a shadow in the dawn,
I wake, and sorrow greets me, pale and drawn.
A silent ache that lingers through the day,
A hollow echo where the laughter lay.
I wander through rooms of memory and dust,
Searching for the place where I left my trust.
Was it a word, a moment, or a dream,
That slipped away, unravelling the seam?
The morning light is heavy on my chest,
Each breath is a question, longing for the rest
Of something lost—some spark, some gentle whole—
A map, a sign, the place I lost my soul.
I search the corners of forgotten years,
Through faded hopes and quietly shed tears.
But every path just circles back to me—
Still longing for the place my soul might be.

The Old Lady in the Mirror: A Poem by Carmela D'Amore

In the silvered glass she lingers,
Lines etched deep by-passing years,
Eyes that flicker with old embers,
Hands that tremble, holding fears.
Many faces have we traded—
Masks for laughter, veils for pain,
Borrowed smiles and borrowed sorrows,
Worn and shed, then worn again.
She remembers every bargain,
Every face that was not true,
Every time the self was bartered
For a mask that others knew.
Be careful, whispers her reflection,
Not to lose the face that’s yours;
For in trading self for shadows,
Something precious slips through the doors.
If the mirror shows a stranger,
If the eyes no longer know—
Then the soul, once bright and certain,
Is the price we let go.

Gifts Within -- A Poem by Carmela D'Amore

We enter life with silent seeds,
Unseen, untouched, but full of needs—
A spark, a song, a hidden art,
A whisper deep within the heart.

At first, we wander, eyes unsure,
The world a maze, the path obscure,
Yet somewhere in the quiet space,
A gift awaits for us to trace.

Through trials faced and lessons learned,
With every corner bravely turned,
We stumble on what makes us whole—
A calling rising from the soul.

A gentle hand, a patient ear,
A mind that dreams, a voice that cheers,
Each gift unique, yet all the same:
A light that burns, a steady flame.

We nurture seeds with hope and care,
And find our purpose growing there—
For gifts are born, but must be found,
In journeys winding, round and round.

So trust the path, embrace the quest,
Let heart and spirit do the rest.
For deep inside, the gifts we bear
Will guide us to the why, the where.

I hope you enjoy it. If it resonates with you, I would love your feedback. Please subscribe.

My first time in Bali, I had no expectations just open to receive the place and the people.
No wonder Aussies leave Australia 🇦🇺 and settle in Bali.
I have had a great time, the place is beautiful it reminds me of Sicily, the people are amazing 😊
Love it so far, we are here for the week with my husband Marco and cousins.

The Journey to Eternity - A Poem by Carmela D'Amore

I bathe in the richness of honour,

I clothe in the virtue of wisdom,

I breathe in the presence of righteousness,

and stand on the foundation of justice,

Integrity is my birthright,

the fruits of my labour are kindness, gentleness and love.

Justice is my mother,

Vengence is my father,

Death is my resting place.

Life is my journey,

Light is my path,

The sword is my truth,

My breastplate is the Word,

in death there is honour,

The warrior lives in me,

Eternity is my dwelling place.

Happy Sunday 😀
This verse is in Philippians 4 verse 8-9
What it doesn’t finish with is verse 9.
What ever you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace will be with you.

Today we seem to cut off what the Holy Spirit desires for us. We cut it off with noise, devices and keeping busy so we don’t hear.

In this verse I’ve learned that whatever is good, holy, just, pure to meditate on these things and most of all DO it live it, breathe it, and in that the Great Creator His peace will be with me.

Peace that surpasses all understanding in the times when I can’t understand, gives me more peace.

That’s exactly what my Father wants me to have, peace and in that Gods peace is with me.

I can grasp only a fraction of this verse. What I can share is that if I stay in that realm, no matter what happens or where I am, peace stays with me, now, not just any ordinary peace, but the peace that surpasses all understanding is with me.

May that peace be with you.

Going to bed with a picture in your mind is important.
This helps to relax you and it brings peace into your body.
Try going to bed with a picture and think about good things.
There’s a saying in the bible: Phillipians 4 v 8

Finally brothers whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is any worthy of praise, think about these things.

Can you imagine how our life would change if we programmed our thinking before we go to bed?

Changing the way we go to bed will change our future.

It will direct and navigate our course for the next day. It will make us kinder to ourselves and others.

It will fuel us with better energy to sleep and think good thoughts.

As a man thinketh so is he. Proverbs 23:7
