Just stumbled upon Muted while walking under the scorching sun. Spotted this aesthetically minimalist cafe — it looked interesting, so I stepped in. Tried their ice cream; the vanilla and Sakura Earl Grey flavors were pretty good!
.
It feels like a cozy spot to catch up with friends too. Love the vibe.

đŸ‡źđŸ‡©If you haven’t heard—Babi Guling is a must-try when you're in Bali, Indonesia! Our private driver and my travel buddy both recommended Warung Pak Malen, and I’m glad we went.
.
From the outside, it looks pretty average, but step in and it’s surprisingly modern—and packed! We followed the locals' lead and ordered the rice set, which comes with soup. Heads up: even items labeled “not spicy” have a kick—including the veggies, meat, and soup. đŸŒ¶
.
Most everyday Indonesian dishes are either fried or spicy, so non-spicy food lovers, be prepared! Stock up on coconut water—it might just save your tongue and throats. 😂
.
Bonus: Warung Pak Malen also sells some well-known local snacks that make great souvenirs. Worth checking out!

Just before my flight from Singapore to Bali, I was starving—and stumbled upon Taiwan Culture restaurant at the airport. Their breakfast menu was a delightful surprise with lots of variety!
.
Funny thing: their breakfast hours run from 12am to 11am, perfect for all the late-night and early-morning flyers. 😄
.
Prices are super wallet-friendly too—think food court range, but with way more flair. If you're in the mood for some snaps, they’ve even got a cool train-themed OOTD backdrop at the entrance. The interior is vibrant and welcoming, making the whole experience extra pleasant.
.
Just thought I’d share this affordable, photo-worthy, and satisfying breakfast spot with fellow travelers! âœˆïžđŸ±đŸ“ž
.
Oh, and it's Halal certified too.

I have two perspectives to share—one as a foodie, and one as a business owner.
.
From a foodie's point of view:
If you enjoy eating caipng with more than three types of ingredients (料), and you usually don't need big portions of each, you might want to check out Hundred Grains. It’s a good option if you like variety on your plate especially pairing different nutrition needs.
.
From a business perspective:
Essentially, both traditional caipng stalls and this place use similar ingredients. But here, they’ve flipped the game with a different pricing model—$3.18 per 100g sounds affordable, but it adds up really quickly without you realising. I ended up paying $18.09 for my caipng! It’s a so so clever strategy. Same ingredients, repackaged, re-model and sold with a smart approach that significantly boosts their profit margin.
.
PS. The food quality and taste is better than general caipng stall. I think it's worth but not for daily yay! đŸ€ŁđŸ˜…

Will you try?

Craving fresh seafood tze char without having to squeeze with a crowd? I found a hidden gem in Mount Austin that you might just love. It’s spacious, peaceful, and yes — they even have a tank filled with live shellfish right at the front!
.
I went for the stir-fried clams during dinner and was genuinely impressed — super fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. At just around $9sgd, it was definitely value for money!
.
They’ve got a pretty extensive seafood menu too, so if clams aren’t your thing, there’s still plenty to explore. I noticed a lot of people online raving about their stingray — looks like that’s a crowd favorite.
.
The place has both indoor and outdoor seating, so whether you're looking to chill in the air-con or enjoy the evening breeze, you're covered.

I was quite surprised to step into what seemed like a neighborhood prata food court and find western dishes on the menu.
.
It felt like a bit of a gamble to order something that wasn’t Indian or prata-related, given the food court-style vibes. Still, I took the risk and went for their tom yum dish, while my friend stuck to the classic nasi biryani. I also added a side of chicken wings. The wings were nothing to shout about, but the tom yum soup?
.
Surprisingly savoury and delicious — a different kind of taste profile for tom yum soup, but all good!
.
The menu stated "Multi Cuisine Restaurant," by the way. Explore ordering if you're curious.

I happened to pass by the famously usually long-queued Poh Cheu kueh stall — the one that's almost always packed with people patiently waiting for their turn.
.
Surprisingly, this time the line wasn’t as long, and I was with a friend who happens to be quite the kueh enthusiast. With the stars aligned just right — a shorter queue and the perfect company — we decided to join the line. There are a lot of different flavours. ♄

Just before starting the day, I needed a good lunch with my besties. We happened to be at Kallang Wave Mall near the stadium, so we walked around to see what was interesting and came across Seoul Yummy. They had a lunch buddy meal set, which was perfect for us. I didn’t expect the portions to be so big — we couldn’t finish everything and had to take some away. It’s a great choice if you’re really hungry and craving meaty Korean food.
.
Also, their appetisers are free-flow — you can take as much as you want. Be sure to grab the kimchi quickly though, it runs out fast!

Wow, super shiok! I was having a pretty meh day when I randomly stumbled upon a sushi conveyor belt restaurant by Don Don Donki. Eh, I’ve never seen this brand before, so out of curiosity, I decided to give it a try.
.
The moment I looked at the menu, I spotted some unique dishes you don’t usually find at typical Japanese places—like golden squid sashimi and sea lettuce miso soup! Totally caught my attention.
.
I ended up falling in love with the cozy dining vibes and all the different scallop sushi varieties—they were seriously my kind of comfort food. Honestly, I just kept ordering without caring if it would burn a hole in my wallet
but surprise! The prices were actually quite reasonable.
.
Spent about $60 for one pax (I ate alone) and left with a happy belly and a lifted mood. No regrets!

I wanted to share about this interesting spot I visited recently called Average Service CafĂ©. Don’t let the name fool you—it might sound a little quirky. From the moment I stepped in, I could feel the unique charm of the place. Everything from the ambiance to the furniture had a distinct personality. The seating pieces were particularly eye-catching, each one seemingly curated to add to the cafĂ©'s quirky and creative vibe.
.
One of the highlights of my visit was trying out a rather unusual drink called Apple Matcha Cloud. It sounded like a strange combination at first, but it turned out to be surprisingly refreshing which is light (apple) and deep (matcha) blended well altogether—definitely something different from the usual cafĂ© menu.
.
Overall, I had a really relaxing and enjoyable meal here. If you’re someone who appreciates offbeat, artsy environments and loves snapping aesthetic photos, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore a cafĂ© that stands out from the crowd!
