Just never forget that some critics called THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK a bland soulless sequel when it opened. It was initially considered a letdown coming off the original by some in the mainstream media. Even the Academy abandoned support. Unlike Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings Trilogy, ESB only scored 3 nominations and a win for Sound and a Special Achievement Oscar for VFX but wasn’t heralded with the landmark film praise lavished on the first Star Wars. And by the time we got to RETURN OF THE JEDI the disturbance in the fandom exploded with division over Ewoks. And this has always been STAR WARS - never universally loved - always one section of the fandom hating this or that - but the reality is, general audiences have always loved Star Wars. Whether it’s the Originals, the Prequels, the Sequels or the Spinoffs - it is rare for a Star War not to get at least an A- Cinemascore and only twice in 13 films has it not achieved that status. But the New York Times and other major publications all the way back to what’s universally considered to be the Best Star Wars movie of all time have criticized this saga. So our message is to love the Star Wars you love, whether it’s The Acolyte, Attack of the Clones or The Last Jedi.
