The DL Voice

Envy is a strange thing. It isn’t just the desire to have what another possesses; it is the secret, darker wish that they lose it. It is a quiet poison that rarely kills the target; it kills the one carrying it. Let’s examine the depravity and devices of envy.

Envy rarely shows its face. It hides behind “constructive criticism,” fake smiles, or subtle sabotage. These are the “devices”, the calculated moves we make to bring others down to our level because we are unable to climb to theirs. It is a war fought in the shadows.

The irony is that envy is born from a crisis of identity. When we don’t know who we are or Whose we are, we start measuring our worth by someone else’s highlight reel. We end up fighting a battle against a person who isn’t even our competitor.

Truth be told, envy is a thief. It steals the joy of your own progress and blinds you to the grace already present in your life. You cannot be truly grateful and truly envious at the same time. One requires a full heart; the other, a void.

Overcoming envy isn’t about “trying harder” to be nice. It’s about realizing that God’s grace is not a limited resource. Someone else’s victory is not your defeat. Your assignment is unique; your timing is sovereign. Your only real competition is the person you were yesterday.

If you’ve felt the sting of envy, or the pain of being envied, you need to hear this. It is time to stop the war within and start walking in your own purpose.

Because we have the assurance that when our time on earth comes to an end, we will spend all of eternity with God, we live differently.
The highest of highs do not sweep us away, and the lowest of lows never overwhelm us.
What can drown the master of oceans and storms and seas?

Sometimes, faith is giving selflessly, helping without expecting recompense, or putting the conditions in place for others to get their miracle.
When the time comes for you to put your faith to the test, I pray your faith is never found wanting.

If being a good person was enough to get to heaven, there would be no need for God to sacrifice His Son for the salvation of humanity.
Good works without salvation will still lead you to hell.
Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour today.

Human impossibility does not limit divine ability.
The God who made the world with His word is able to give you what you need, when you need it, for His glory, and to take care of you as one of His own.

The DL Voice

Most of us are comfortable with “partial” commitment. We give God our Sundays, our crises, and our guilt, but we keep the rest for ourselves. But God is not interested in leftovers. He demands entire consecration.

Consecration isn’t a religious ritual; it’s an absolute commitment. It’s the realization that everything we’ve spent our lives accumulating is dust compared to the “Prioritised Pearls” of the Kingdom. To possess the Pearl, you must be willing to sell the noise.

These “Pearls” aren’t material wealth or earthly status. They are the deep, eternal truths of identity, purpose, and peace that the world cannot replicate. The irony is that we spend our lives chasing pebbles while ignoring the diamond right in front of us.

We live in a culture of “hedging our bets.” We want the Kingdom, but we also want to keep one foot in the world. But you cannot be entirely consecrated while maintaining a backup plan. A divided heart is a dysfunctional heart.

The frightening thing is that we think we are “sacrificing” by giving our lives to God. In reality, we are being rescued from a life of insignificance. True consecration isn’t a loss; it’s the ultimate gain. It is the end of the struggle to be “enough.”

If you’re tired of living a fragmented life and are ready to trade the temporary for the eternal, this message is for you.

When faith demands you get active, it is easy to stand up and get going. But what happens when faith demands you do nothing?
And when the same is demanded of your children, can you get them on the same page with you?
