I'm writing today from my brand new studio! We moved (again) and we recycled all of the boxes and bought a couch, so we're officially done moving for a while.

I've been working on some halloween tracks the past few weeks, and I've got two of them released and two more are on the way.

I did a road trip a couple weeks ago to visit ROZEN's studio and we recorded four new tracks for an upcoming album, and I'm super excited for that release. They were sounding amazing in the studio, and I can't wait to share them!

Right before the road trip, I had a live show in Winnipeg playing a whole bunch of arrangements including five or six new ones! Unfortunately the video recording of the theater show ended up corrupted and I don't have anything from that show to share, but I'm going to try to get some of the tracks recorded for the channel separately.

The kids are back in school again, and I just rigged the lights and mics for the new recording booth so that it's ready to go!

Hi friends! I'm finally settling in to my new home in Canada after an international move, and I'm working on all kinds of studio upgrades to help my audio quality be the best it can be for you and my collaborators going forward.

I just finished building 6 sound-damping panels to make a portable recording booth for my violin and guitar, and it sounds amazing!

The international move took all of my time and then a little extra over the past few months, and I'm really looking forward to getting back to primarily making music. I met a bunch of musicians at a local jazz jam this past week and everyone was so so friendly. I'll be back to recording and arranging very, very soon!

The past couple of months have been incredibly busy over here, but the loose ends are starting to wrap up finally so that I will be able to get back to making some new videos for the channel. I'm also trying to finish up Final Fantasy Tactics, Hades 2, and Octopath 0 to clear my backlog.

I played on three tracks from ROZEN's new Ballads of Hyrule III album, Castle Town, Kakariko Village, and The Wind Waker. I especially love how Castle Town turned out, and I'm so glad that he encouraged me to use my improvisational style to really lean into the folk music feel for these tracks.

It was such a pleasure working with ROZEN on this album, and I'm hoping we have many more opportunities to make music together!

Sorry it's been so quiet with videos lately! There are a lot of really big projects in the works, and I'm excited to share them with you as they come out. If you're not following on streaming platforms, I've got a lot of releases coming out there that won't necessarily have videos too.

I didn't take a picture of my monthly listeners at the peak after Halloween, but it was up at about 470k from "Blood Moon" getting about half a million streams over the month of October.

I've got some more Clair Obscur coming, some Zelda, KPop Demon Hunters, Pokemon, Deltarune, Silksong, Hollow Knight, and more in progress or already delivered waiting for release! I'll be back soon with some more videos, but I had to move my studio around in my house and I'm still working on getting my setup back online for video as well.

I've got a brand new album today!

This is getting out of control. I go to my "Trending Videos" tab in youtube studio to see what is popular recently on a regular basis. Today I thought there might have been two non-ai (a record from 1974?, nope completely hallucinated by AI).

This is what is popular right now, and this even has survivorship bias where these are the ones that are successful. There's a firehose of AI music being generated and dumped on this site. I can't compete with this, and this is what people prefer to listen to and watch.

The unfortunate truth is that with AI sucking up all of the space, there's no room for small human artists like me to get impressions on this site anymore.

It's exhausting and terrible. Please, PLEASE support human artists, even if they aren't me. I know that anyone that sees this probably will vehemently agree, but TELL PEOPLE! The only way this dies is if people refuse to interact with it.

If human artists can't afford to make music, this is all there will be left in a few years.
