The prayer that got me in trouble
Hi love,
I prayed a bold prayer once —
“God, increase so I can decrease. Let Your will be done. Blind every counterfeit man from me.”
At the time, I didn’t realize what I was asking for.
I thought I was just praying for protection.
But what I really did…
Was invite God to take full control.
I didn’t know that meant a hidden season.
I didn’t know that meant silence from people I once hoped to hear from.
And I definitely didn’t know that “being kept” would sometimes feel like “being overlooked.”
But here’s what I’ve learned:
God’s way is rarely what we imagine — but it’s always better than we expected.
I thought I was being punished.
Turns out, I was being preserved.
If you’ve ever prayed something bold and then wondered why things shifted,
you’re not alone.
Sometimes God answers us by protecting us from what we thought we wanted.
And if you’re in a season where it feels like nothing is happening,
He might just be shielding you from everything that would’ve broken you.
Keep praying the dangerous prayers.
The ones that stretch you.
The ones that sanctify you.
The ones that set you apart.
That’s where the freedom is.
