Free Word is an arts organisation championing the power and politics of words. We are a home to our resident organisations: Apples and Snakes, ARTICLE 19, The Arvon Foundation, English PEN, The Literary Consultancy, The Reading Agency, and Reporters Without Borders.

We place an emphasis on fresh perspectives from voices that are often underrepresented, and bring together a rich variety of exciting writers, artists and activists, creating a multifaceted programme of Seasons which reflect society, culture and politics.
