🚨 LATEST UPDATE: Women’s Reservation Act 2023
The Supreme Court has called women the “largest minority” and sought the Centre’s response on the delay in implementing the Women’s Reservation Act, 2023 👩⚖️
📌 The Act provides 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, but it remains unimplemented — pending the next Census and delimitation process.
🔹 Justice B.V. Nagarathna highlighted Article 15(3), empowering the State to make special provisions for women’s upliftment.
🔹 The Court also noted the declining female representation in Parliament.
