Ever wonder how long your implant will last?
Well, I had my two year checkup last week and the PA shared with me that they had been using these polyethylene cup liners for 25 years and that in all that time they have never once had one go bad and require revision surgery. That's pretty awesome!
Granted, this is just one component of the typical hip implant, but it's great to hear.
Otherwise, he said my RTHR looked great and my other hip still looks good. The official report stated:
RIGHT: a prosthesis in place with no evidence of loosening or subsidence
LEFT: slight joint space narrowing with mild osteophyte formation (grade 1)
Just wanted to share the good news.
Have a great week!
Pete
Happy Easter! If you need something to motivate you to get a hip replacement, you probably don't need to look far. Kids, grandkids, your favorite sport or activity, or just enjoying life with less pain. In my case, it's all of the above. Friday I played volleyball with our youngest (now 20) and Saturday and Sunday I went for training hikes with his older brother at Umstead State Park and on the Mountains to Sea Trail along Falls Lake. Here's my favorite Easter pic of our kids when they were little. What's your motivation? Pete
Hey Hippies, my original channel @Life411 just passed the 4,000 subscriber milestone! This picture is of two hippies, my mom and myself, toasting during a visit last month. Thanks for watching and hope all is well in your hip journey. Pete
Just updated and published this popular video from my original channel.
I wonder how long it will take to match the 50,000 views the original video has. I'm excited to see this new channel taking off and having the opportunity to update and improve these videos.
Hope everyone is doing well in their hip journeys.
Pete
