I have 4 university degrees 🎓

But which one was ACTUALLY helpful in my career?

I’ve tried ranking my degrees based on how useful they’ve been in MY LIFE.

Here’s what I got.

4. Economics 📈

I loved the uni but I did distance learning so didn’t really get the most of it. Lots of Maths that I never use and rules about the ways markets and businesses work that are not true, having worked in corporate and run my own. It kept me close to Ukraine but didn’t give me much more. Sorry.

3. Business 💰

CEO of Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover, Heinz went to Warwick Business School. At the time, it was ranked as the best business school in Europe and has super cool modern facilities but actually - this is the least useful degree when it comes to knowledge / skills to run a business. One good thing is that I actually went back there to teach communications as an industry insider, that was cool.

2. Sociology 🌍

John Kennedy, Sir David Attenbrouguh and Mick jagger. LSE alumni have been awarded 18 Nobel Prizes in economics, peace and literature. I studied in Inequalities department (exploring health, gender and passport inequalities) and I found it super stimulating. I was working in corporate consultancy already so I had more real world experience. It was probably the degree where I actually learnt the most, knowledge that I use to this day. Also network is very useful.

1. Law ⚖️

I just moved to the UK, could barely speak English, when I started law school here. Most presidents in the world did law and it’s no wonder. It taught me how to read a lot and synthesise information, have logical reasoning, how to write effectively, speak persuasively. I use the skills acquired in law in almost all areas of my life. I still think it’s the best option of what to study if you have no idea what to do with your life.

This was my first time in the US 10 years ago, and here is my WORST take ever 😬

Thank you the American people for your support for Ukraine (and for me) over the years.

Ever since my first visit, I found your nation fascinating. But Trump & team’s ‘performance’ at the Oval Office was disappointing. Reciting Russian propaganda, attacking Ukraine, undermining our leader. The world needs leadership and strength from the USA, let’s hope this was just a blip.

Слава Україні 🇺🇦

What are your views on climate change?

I recently went to COP29 which is the UN’s annual climate conference. Thanks ‪@YouTube‬ !

It was my second time. This one was in Baku, Azerbaijan 🇦🇿 . Last year’s was in Dubai, the UAE 🇦🇪 . Both very oil dependent economies.

It was my first time in Azerbaijan and it was an interesting experience. Many countries brought huge delegations of negotiators - but the results of the conference are underwhelming.

I’m working on a video related to climate change so I’m curious to hear your thoughts? Do you know people who think it’s not happening or isn’t human caused? Do you think we can transition away from oil and gas? What are the moods in your country?
