A few years ago, my son and I decided to see how big of a new and retro video game collection we could build with just $1 by flipping items from garage sales, thrift stores, FB Marketplace, etc. The first week, my son found a 1980s Donkey Kong plush for $1 at a church yard sale. We sold it for $28, used the profit to buy our next flip, and repeated this process over and over to fund our gaming hobby. In less than three years, we built an $25,000 video game collection by only spending $1!!!
