*2024 UPDATE!* - Note that I'm still a passionate language teacher, language teacher trainer and pedagogical innovator. However, I've moved my focus to my other Youtube channels which focus more on educational technology: Teach Ahead and Learn Ahead.
There are still LOADS of resources for iTalki and Preply teachers, but these channels focus less on my (Ryan's) individual teaching experiences and more on growing a COMMUNITY of passionate online educators.
So, I still browse comments from time to time, but don't be worried if you see no new uploads or posts. I couldn't be more grateful to the amazing supporters on this channel and I hope to continue growing together, making the difference we wish to see inside and outside of the online classroom.
Keep smilin'!
Ryan

Hey youtube I NEED YOUR HELP (please)!
Here are 30-odd blog tasks I have given my students for homework. I like using Blogger because it gets my students to interact and respond to one another.

Soooo my request - can anyone give my suggestions to add for future blog tasks? Let me know in the comment section. π
(P.S. I'll be posting a free tutorial on how to use Blogger with your students. It'll be up on my Patreon page by the end of the day.)

Hello teacher friends!
As I approach 4000 lessons taught online over the past 3 years, I'm excited to start a new adventure. π«
Two months ago, I interviewed Tammam who told me about a language teaching and learning platform called Polytripper.
Immediately, I was interested in learning more about the platform. After some research and a lot of dragging my heels, I submitted my application.
Yesterday, I was accepted. β

Here we go - into new beginnings. I'll keep you all in-the-know regarding my experience on the platform. If anyone has questions about getting started on Polytripper, give me a shout! π§
P.S. I'm still on iTalki, but excited to try something new. π

Alright, let's settle it.
How do you pronounce Preply?
P.S.: I'll make you a deal. First option to hit 100 votes is how I'm saying it moving forward. If neither of them hit 100, then I'll just keep torturing half of you by pronouncing it however I'm feeling on the day. π

Teachers,
I couldn't possibly be more proud to make this announcement. π£
After countless hours of planning, creating, recording, editing, revising and publishing - the final product.
Here is my FULL 120-hour TESOL of Online Teachers Course available via Udemy:
www.udemy.com/course/120-hour-tesol-course-for-onlβ¦
I have literally PACKED this course with more than 130 modules, divided along 20 sections. Dozens of personally-created resources, graded assignments, guided lectures and peer-reviewed articles fill this course in which I've poured my heart, soul and all of the knowledge I have acquired through a TESOL certification, a CTESL certificate and an MA degree in Applied Linguistics.
It also includes everything that I WASN'T taught; everything that I have learned the hard way through thousands of lessons, headaches and heartaches as a teachers. This is also heavily influenced by YOU, teachers, as your stories, comments and questions have informed the perceived needs of the prospective students. Thank you! β€οΈ
Teacher friends, if you know anyone who's getting started as an online language teacher (iTalki, Preply, etc.), send them over to this course. This is one of the only 120-hour TESOL certificates that you will ever see which is SPECIALLY FOR ONLINE LANGUAGE TEACHERS. π»π
It has everything, from methodology to digital tools, lesson planning to common challenges, from activities to types of students, from professional development to marketing and advertising. π©βππ¨βππ ππ
Another quick thank you, what a ride, let's keep growing together! Keep studyin', growin', evolvin' and smilin'! π
