With Sketchup 2023 and 2025, a lot of bugs are seen with lag and display, while the 2022 and 2024 sketchup versions are stable.

Layout works even on an intel iris xe graphics, but file size and speed is helped by larger ram and stronger cpu.


Mid End:

Acer Nitro/Predator - for sketchup, rendering, and layout. Cons: display issues with the brand, but covered by warranty.

Asus Tuf Gaming & Lenovo Legion - stable hardware, same specs with other gaming laptops.

But for lightweight laptops without the need for rendering, any graphics with 4gb and cpu 12th gen would do for budget.

It's scary how fast AI adopts to instructions, trying to draft with readable letters this time. Still wrong construction details, but given more instructions, it will basically catch up to cad automation.

UNLICENSED ARROGANCE

Just like having a driver's license is a privilege (not a right), having professional licenses does not entail you to look down on others. It does not negate you to still take initiative for best of the group.

Yes, there are limits to the works in your job description, but simple activities like eating together, preparing the utensils, and assisting guests reflect your taking part of a company.

Otherwise, you don't need to be in a team if your attitude is all about selfish gain. Go to the restaurant and eat there instead of criticizing those who are willing to help others, regardless of their title.

There are cases in the past where construction workers had buried an engineer near our place. He treated them with disrespect, brandishing wealth on their faces, and condemning them during the payroll. They waited for him by the gate when no one was looking because of his rotten attitude, regardless if he was the construction manager.

There are cases where apprentices suddenly treat workers lowly, once they get their license. "you're just a carpenter, i'm an engineer, i'm an architect, i'm a project manager". This is truly unnecessary when many licensed professionals still don't have construction experience as much as many skilled workers. They should be gaining them during apprenticeships.
