Dawn's Human Mosaic
Its december:
The day dawns as the sun spills its ceaseless light across the untainted cosmos.
A humble man, calloused feet tracing ancient paths, seeks the River Krishna for a sacred ablution,
His murmured mantras drifting past the shore’s damp stones.
A street vendor, by the river’s bend, stirs dosa batter, its fragrance weaving through morning’s chill,
Her sizzling griddle humming where the pilgrim passes.
A client slips from the cathouse, carrying the fleeting glow of a beautiful night’s memory,
His shadow brushing the vendor’s stall in dawn’s soft haze.
A cadre gathers near, weaving a stage of polished deceit for the political fray,
Their voices echoing where the client’s footsteps fade.
An angler, net barren, treads the shore’s rim, heart frayed with vexation and a flicker of dread,
His gaze meeting the pilgrim’s across the Krishna’s flow.
High above, an unseen gaze, perhaps divine,
Watches this eternal play with a silent, smiling grace.
