My name is Dustin Porter,
I am a film maker and an adventurer. I spent most of my professional film career as a Video Producer for Princess Cruises, where I had the tremendous pleasure of producing film in 53 different countries. The Pandemic forced a change upon me, and I put my focus and production ability straight into Destination Adventure. Now I spend my time searching for stories, interesting people and exceptional locations. My 12 Valve Cummins Expedition Truck takes me to remote locations around North America, Lot 32 is my home to be, and my plans for the future involve some very exciting adventures and expeditions. Join me every week for a brand new episode.
If you're curious about any of my gear, equipment, tools or supplies, below is a Link Tree to all of the goodies. I get a small commission on purchases through the link, which is always a great help.

The city they burned… and the few people who still call it home.
This is one of the most fascinating stories I’ve filmed — from the rise of a remote Canadian town to the fires that destroyed it, and the residents who refuse to leave.
If you missed the documentary, here’s the updated version with a new title and thumbnail.

Hey folks, I’m sure many have noticed the lack of a video last weekend, my apologies. With winter settling in quickly, I am hustling to try and get some key projects complete at the lot before the ground freezes. This winter, Lot 32 must reach completion, because I have big plans in the coming years that involve being gone most of the year. Additionally we are in the process of getting Emi back home safe and sound to Japan, and for the above reasons there won’t be a video this weekend as well. Things will be back on track with weekly uploads asap, and I am sorry for the delay currently. Everything is good and on track and this winter should be a fun mix of off grid build, expedition truck build and as much adventure as possible. The Rig is high priority because this coming summer will be the largest expedition to date. See you all soon, and thank you for the patience.
Much love,
Dustin.

Happy Halloween everybody. I hope everyone has had a happy and safe time, and I hope the candy is plentiful.
November 1st, what an exciting day. My video this weekend is possibly the one I am most proud of to date. It has been a large project, but the end result is far greater than I could have planned. Very excited to share with you all.

Life back on the road, what an absolute joy!
We are well into our season travel, and I must say things are going exceptionally well. I forgot how much I enjoyed the hustle of adventure travel production. Chasing down stories, sourcing interviews, learning from locals and most of all meeting some in incredible people.
I always set ambitious goals, and it’s no secret that the weekly upload in its self is exactly that, so I have been left with a decision. My video for this weekend is technically done, and pretty flippin awesome, but it could be better with the edition of today’s travel. To stay competitive on this platform, it is crucial to upload very regularly, hence the weekly video, but to me it is more important to upload the best video, not the most regular video. Or at least a healthy combination of the two.
I am choosing to push the first expedition video to next week, specifically because this trip deserves a great opener, and that is exactly what will be delivered.
Thank you for your understanding, and please maintain your enthusiasm, because this is gonna be an exceptional experience.
Much love,
Dustin.

Got the old man out for a day of cutting tile and enjoying the river view. This channel has brought many things into my life, but one that I didn’t expect is a better relationship with my father. We definitely build a better truck than a shower, but either way it’s gonna be awesome.

The “bathroom” build is well under way, and things are looking so good. Framing is nearly done, and I’m starting to think we are going to have the nicest Japanese soaking station outside of Japan. Between framing, tiling, plumbing and foreign fittings, I can’t quite get this project done in time for a video this weekend. Not to worry, I’ll be here with a smile and a “How Not To” next weekend. I hope everyone has a sensational weekend, and I will see you all next week. :)

Just wanted to give a brief update for anyone looking for last weeks video. Unfortunately I have had to take it down. I am very sorry if you didn’t get the chance to see. I try my best to avoid these situations, but occasionally it happens. Not to worry though, I am on track with this weekend upload. :)

We visited quite a few shrines this past trip to Japan. I wasn't pursuing any stories, so there wont be any videos on them, but I sure enjoyed taking a few photos.

My camera didn’t turn off until 3:00am, what a beautiful show. Here are just a few, from a great night of learning to shoot the aurora. #aurora #northernlights #auroraborealis
