My name is Dustin Porter,
I am an adventurer, a film maker and a strong love for life and experience. I spent most of my professional film career as a Video Producer for Princess Cruises, but now I spend my time searching for the untold stories in remote locations. I love to visit and explore abandoned and historic places, and I enjoy every mile and view in between. We all have a story, and I am here to tell yours.

My camera didn’t turn off until 3:00am, what a beautiful show. Here are just a few, from a great night of learning to shoot the aurora. #aurora #northernlights #auroraborealis

When planning for the Dempster Highway, I was told of all the challenges, risks and issues. The itinerary seemed to be filled with more areas of concern than points of interest, but I am hoping to change that stigma. The Dempster Highway, start to finish, was an exceptional experience. The road conditions were decent, mechanical issues were minimal, and most of all the views are world class. After having visited 54 countries, I can confidently say that it is hard to compete with the Dempster, because the diversity you will see throughout the trip will match or beat what you can find elsewhere on the planet. We took four days to make it from the bottom to the top, but I could easily spend weeks. The best part of the whole works, is that I get to share it with all of you.

Hello friends, fans and fam. I have been so fortunate to run into many of you along the route this season, and I enjoyed every meeting. If we took a photo together, and you’re comfortable sharing it, please send it over to the rig_livin page on instagram. :)

Really stoked to be able to share some time with Simon. This odd industry I am in is a tough one to navigate, and getting to spend a day with a fellow creator and explorer, talk about business and catch some fish, was exactly what I needed.

Berry season is finally here. Haven’t fought the bears off to score some blueberries yet, but that should be coming soon too.

Campfires are kinda the best part of camping. In fact, I don’t ever remember camping without a campfire. It keeps you warm, it dries everything out, it cooks your food, and by the end of the night and the bottom of a box of beer, it carries a heck of a conversation. Yet, since I started living full time in a rig, it’s something I rarely do. Every time I take the time to light a fire I tell myself, “this is nice, I should do this more often”, but rarely do I follow through. This year we have been enjoying it more regularly, and cooking over the fire as often as possible, and it has been a treat each time. Someone hold me accountable, because I think this should happen more often. lol. Just a couple of low quality pork chops, but throw them on a fire and partner it with a view like that, you’d be hard pressed to tempt me with five star anything. Almost the weekend, happy campfiring everybody. :)

Midnight in the North, what a sight. Not sure if we’ll get far enough fast enough to see the 24 hour sun, but this is still pretty amazing.
