42 years ago. Just 13 years old. I remember riding in the back of my brother's hot rodded 1971 Plymouth 'Cuda down the Schuykill Expressway to south Philly. I remember the countless bootleg T-shirt sellers in the parking lot on that cold December day. I remember the ticket scalpers making deals and trying not to get busted. I remember the crowds and smoke of different varieties in the bathroom. I remember everyone commenting on how young I was to be there (it was not common back then). I remember the Three Stooges theme introduction... and then. This. Neil Peart. Alex Lifeson. Geddy Lee. That drum kit straight of the cover of Modern Drummer magazine. Those riffs. Those Licks. Just three of them sounding like five. I went on to see every tour thereafter multiple times that culminated to a whopping 105 shows total from coast to coast including dozens of brokered front row tickets and making it onto 2 DVD releases. I have every ticket. All 105 of them. Humans have roamed the Earth for tens of thousands of years and I was fortunate enough to be born at the same time these three virtuosos made history, raised the bar to new heights, and became legends the music industry itself could not control nor contain. When I first started trucking back in 2006 and saw these kind of signs I was immediately curious if this one existed and that was before smartphones so I used my little Garmin GPS to search for it and then made it my mission to get there one day on a road trip.
This lunatic had her windows half way down so when I got next to her at the stop sign I looked over and started laughing as loud as I could looking right at her. I should've made a video and gotten her face so she would be exposed but it all happened so quick I didn't have time to prepare.
