THE FINAL WALK (10/21 - 2 pm Central Time / 7 pm Sierra Leone)
Tomorrow will be the release of the final Sierra Leone video. The last episode, the finale of walking 540 miles across Sierra Leone.Β
This series was two years in the making, with over 800 miles walked, sleeping in countless villages, eating endless cassava leaf, getting malaria and other illnesses, being in pain physically and mentally, filming over a few hundred hours of footage, over 18 months of editing.... It is the biggest creative project I have ever worked on, accomplished, and done to this point.
Sierra Leone holds a special place in my heart, a place I call a second home.
Thank you for watching this journey, after the release of this video I will be taking a break for a month to work on the next series which will follow my travels in India and Pakistan.
Until next time Sierra Leone...

SIERRA LEONE Walk for a Child | Day 14 (Episode 13)
SIERRA LEONE (Stranded in a Village!)
It finally happened. After a day of digging our truck out of the mud we set off on foot to the next village. Along the way we met our next set of challenges. Driving our vehicle and all the supplies up the side of a mountain. By day end our truck had given out and we found ourselves stranded in the most remote village I have been to. What I found most interesting is the language spoken in the village by locals was one that even my friends who are native to Sierra Leone could not understand. This experience being in the remote villages of Eastern Sierra Leone is an experience I hold close to my heart and have an immense amount of gratitude for.
Throughout this video I express a lot of laughter about the difficulty of the roads. But let this not overlook the fact that these communities are often forgotten about by the government and are left to survive on their own. These roads are not only difficult but dangerous and make it very difficult for communities to get supplies in and out. I am grateful for the time I had seeing these communities first hand and speaking to locals along the way

I have finally unlocked the feature to create a post on my feed.
I want to say first thank you for being here, and joining this community. The work my brothers and sisters in Salone as well as my self have done in order to bring this story to life has been one of the hardest, but best experiences of my life.
So far the Sierra Leone series has done very well, but we have not even began to scratch the surface of this entire journey.
I took the last two weeks off to focus on self love and self care, as it is something I often struggle to do. I am realizing that in order to effectively share this story and push this message, my mental health must be a priority.
So here we are... Episode 5
This episode will take us through the villages of Fairo - Zimmi - Gorahun Tonkia
The journey from Zimmi to Gorahun Tonkia was one that took us through the Gola rainforest in the middle of the night. A bit of a crazy experience.
Once again thank you for the love and support, I cannot wait to continue growing this community together.
Here's to Episode 5 (:
