2024 is almost over. It was one of my favorite years ever, and I discovered a ton of great new music and artists. I basically spent the entirety of 2024 listening to either The Fall on Spotify or these artist on YouTube/SoundCloud. There are too many great artists to mention here one by one, and many of them have a wealth of great music available, so I recommend checking the playlists and delving deep into each artist's work.
Major updates to the Mingles compilation since last week. A bunch of stuff have been removed and the compilation is now trimmed down do 10 songs. I added the 3 new releases and also moved Thirty Birds here too as it felt much more at home among these songs. I'm happy with the song selection and sequencing and I hope y'all like it too. Be sure to check it out specially if you happen to be in an adventurous mood and open to hearing a lots of psychedelic improvisation and experimentation in different genres. It will get updated with the Singles compilation with future releases.
My year-long experiment with microtonal harmony and counterpoint comes to an end with what's probably the most insane thing I've released so far. Microtonal rock/jazz music is still in its early stages and requires a ton of research, experimentation and personal conviction to work. I greatly appreciate the support y'all provided during this era, and I will return to Setar and microtonal rock/jazz in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, enjoy listening to the 4 singles and 2 EP's (will make a compilation of all of them). I'm currently finishing my new electronic/hip-hop EP called Air Punk which will be released very soon. Be sure to check that out and again, thank you so much for all the love and energy!
I highly recommend delving into each of these artists channels so you can enjoy listening to the rest of their beautiful music as well. This is the first version of the playlist off the top of my head, and I will add more songs in the future.
In order to sort things better, I've created 2 playlists. One is Singles (6 songs) and the other is Mingles which is the story of everything outside of Single/EP/LP releases. Some older videos previously made private due to lack of proper context have been made public again in Mingles! There are some differences in the SoundCloud version of Mingles and the YouTube version. Hope y'all enjoy listening to these!
