I'm stuck inside your light, air beneath my feet.
In 2019, while in the desert, as a creative exercise, I began writing fictional stories that I hoped to eventually release as animated short films. I started to make what I referred to as 'tiny soundtracks' to these unreleased films in my mind, and ultimately that process opened long inherent but sonically neglected places of the soul if you will, and I began to exhale from there, allowing myself to create music like I've never really made before. The door I unlocked to the music became so thrilling to me that I decided to pursue going further through it and down that sonic road to see where it led, and it naturally led to more, and more, and more music. It's fascinating how one creative step can develop to the next, to the point where the original spark sets a much larger fire to something else. The music video for SIYL, created by the magnificently brilliant Seth Ringger, touches on some of those original themes I wrote in the desert, that moment that birthed so many songs to come. Stuck Inside Your Light is out now. I hope the song is as life-giving to you as it was to me while creating it!
