CY in Shanghai 🇨🇳

Welcome! I'm CY, a lifelong Shanghai local and mom.

This channel is for anyone who wants to understand the real Shanghai—not just the famous attractions.

I share how locals actually live, where we spend our weekends, what we eat, how families enjoy the city, and why Shanghai is designed the way it is.

Whether you're planning your first trip, moving to Shanghai, or simply curious about modern China, you'll find practical tips, local insights, and authentic stories here.

My goal isn't just to show you Shanghai.

It's to help you understand it like a local.

New video coming this Friday ✨

I’m taking you to my favorite Buddhist temple in Shanghai, Longhua Temple — even though I’m not Buddhist.

We spent Mid-Autumn Festival here as a family, from the temple and vegetarian noodles in the morning to a quiet hidden space in the afternoon, dinner, festival lights and a family photo at night.

It’s a very personal Shanghai day for us, but if you’re interested in Chinese traditional culture and temples, you can also follow it as a half-day or full-day itinerary.

See you on Friday ❤️

CY in Shanghai 🇨🇳

Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of China’s most traditional holidays — a time for family reunions, mooncakes, and enjoying the full moon together. 🌕 🥮

So please forgive me for being a little quieter today — I’m spending the day with my family.

Later, I’ll share a new video about how we celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival here in Shanghai: what we do, what we eat, and how we enjoy this special day together.

And yes — the Shanghai travel guides I promised are also on the way.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 中秋节快乐!

Wherever you are, I hope you get to spend some happy moments with the people you love. ❤️

I started this channel to share Shanghai from a local’s perspective, and I really appreciate every one of you who has watched, commented, and subscribed.

Alongside my longer videos, I’m also going to start experimenting with some lighter Shorts — little moments from everyday life in Shanghai, local finds, and simple tips that might be useful if you’re visiting.

The first one is already up! 👇
