Hey everyone, I wanted to give you all a little update but first:
THANK YOU all so so much for all the support and nice comments! It means a lot to me to be reminded of what a wonderful community we have. Thank you for your patience and support.
It means more than words can express and I hope to very soon be able to pay it back in kind.

I read every single comment under these posts and all my videos even if I don't often have the time and energy to respond these days.

Sadly I can offer good news just yet:
Sora had been doing better yesterday but this morning he declined again. I immediately brought him to the vet and they hospitalised him so he will stay at the clinic for a while and hopefully until he feels better. Yet they warned me that sudden death is a possibility now.

Luckily my other birds are showing no signs of respiratory distress and I'm monitoring the humidity and temperature in my room closely.

I hope Sora will make it because I don't know what to do if I lost two birds in less than 9 months. I can't start 2026 with another death.

Happy new year everyone.

Sadly I have to tell you that 2026 started with an utter gut punch for me. Sora was diagnosed with pneumonia (the cause for Akari's passing).
He is being treated and I will do everything in my power to get him through this but logically I'm scared and worried.

My own health issues haven't resolved yet and at once my schedule has filled with doctor and vet appointments in the next week, enough to drown in.

On top of that my comfort show just pulled off the most hurtful queerbait I have seen in a very long time.

That is all to say as much as I want to come back I still can't. I want nothing than to finally come up for air.
I apologise for this post being rambly and disorganised and low-key over sharing but I wanted to keep you updated and find that you deserve an explanation for the delay on well... Everything.

I'm really sorry beyond my capacity at this point and it feels like I can't catch a breath. You are a small glimpse of hope in all of this so please allow me to selfishly ask that you still be here when I hopefully find some solid ground again.

Until then I hope you are having more luck than me. Happy new year and a warning from this content creator: never say "I hope the next year will be better" or any version of it...
(And don't publish on Ao3 the cure will get you /j)

In case anyone got worried: Me and the birds are okay!

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake hit Japan. In Sapporo we too received a warning a few seconds before the quake reached us.

Me, my friends, and my birds are fine. The shaking was intense but nothing broke and it ultimately ended up harmless for us.
