I read stories that feel like home—sometimes messy, sometimes magical, but always Black and unforgettable.
On this channel, you’ll find Urban Fiction, Urban Romance, and Historical Fiction that centers us: our love, our struggle, our legacy.
Whether it’s drama in the streets, passion behind closed doors, or truth buried in the past—if it made me feel something, I’m talking about it here.
Pull up a seat, join the convo, and don’t forget to bring your TBR.🙂👋🏿📚

Raq's Reading

I’m pressing pause on Own It by Shvonne Latrice. I actually connected with this book when I first started reading it, but somewhere along the way, I lost the fire to keep going. As a mood reader, I’ve learned that sometimes it’s better to step away rather than force myself through a book. So many people are raving about this one, and I still want to see what everyone else is seeing—I’m just going to come back to it when the mood hits me again. ❤️📖

🚨 30% CHECK-IN: Own It by Shvonne Latrice | The drama is already wild and I’m suspecting EVERYONE! 👀

📚 THE GENRE
Urban Romance

🖤 THE TROPE
Kidnapped to Lovers (You already know the tension is on 100!)

FIRST IMPRESSION
This book did NOT waste a single second getting my attention. That Prologue set the stage so heavy that I immediately had to sit back and ask: “Wait... how in the world did we get here?!”

THE CHARACTERS

Rakim: Getting those glimpses into his past has me completely hooked—he’s complex, and I need the full backstory ASAP.

Ayan: Rakim’s twin brother... and honestly, what is his actual deal?! I’ve got my eye on him because something isn't adding up.

Daylin: She’s definitely giving the "Black Sheep" of the family, but I am loving her fire, grit, and determination under pressure.

THE VIBE
Messy, chaotic, and 100% right up my alley! 🍿 I’m looking at both of their families—and Ayan—with heavy side-eye right now... something dark and secret is going on behind the scenes.

🤔 THE BIGGEST QUESTION
We’re only at 30% and so much has already gone down... how much deeper and wilder is this about to get?!

⭐ 30% VERDICT
4.5 / 5 Stars so far!
Am I continuing? ABSOLUTELY. I am fully locked in, nose deep in these pages, and I need answers!
