Plot: Dora and Blue are helping Max and Ruby make a pie to eat, but Ruby can't decide what kind of pie to make. When Max suggested apple pie, Ruby happily agrees. Unfortunately, they don't have any apples. So the gang set off to the apple tree to get more apples so they can make (and enjoy) apple pie.

Ruby's Merit Badge
Plot: Dora, Blue, Ruby and Louise show each other the merit badges they've earned. When Louise shows her First Aid Merit Badge, Ruby wants to earn one too. She starts practicing to bandage Max, and then they go out to practice on more friends so Ruby can earn her First Aid Merit Badge.

Fun Fact: Ruby was able to earn her First Aid Merit Badge, but she also earned a knot badge when they saw Max's bandages tied up in knots.

Franklin and the Red Scooter
Plot: Ruby shows Dora, Blue and Franklin her brand-new red scooter. Franklin desperately wants a red scooter just like Ruby's, but his parents tell him he's already got a bike. So he tries various ways to earn money (like lemonade stands and magic tricks) but fails. Franklin is disappointed, but Dora tells him that earning money is hard and that he has to be happy with what he has. In the end, Ruby decides to share her scooter with Franklin.

It's true that Sir Topham Hatt does scold his engines if they cause trouble. But in Dora's Big World, he never scolds Dora or her friends if they do something wrong. Here's a season 1 episode to prove it.

Franklin Takes the Blame
Plot: Franklin offers to take care of Lady Hatt's garden while she and her husband Sir Topham Hatt take a trip to the beach today, but he forgets to water the garden. When Franklin realizes his mistake, Devious Diesel tells him that Sir Topham Hatt and Lady Hatt will be very cross with him for neglecting his responsibility. Franklin tries to fix the garden while Dora and Blue (with a little advice from Lady) help him gain the courage to own up his mistake before Diesel tattles on him.
Debut: Lady Hatt

Life Lesson: Admitting your mistakes is part of being responsible.

After Franklin admits his mistake, Sir Topham Hatt happily accepts his apology, but he scolds Diesel for trying to tattle on Franklin.
