- Iâve been fairly lean my whole life and I have never and I mean never, shied away from Nutella, cookies and more. Achieving a lean physique is like most things in lifeâŚbalance. You canât travel the world, pay for a car, club every weekend while having all the savings for an emergency. Just like fitness, you canât do cardio five days a week, lift heavy, grow your arms while hoping to reduce fat in your legs. Everything has its place and time. Itâs about balance and structure.
2) Iâm older/my metabolism is slow so I gain weight easy
- As special as you might think you are, youâre not that special. When youâre buzzing around as a kid youâre constantly burning calories so youâre unlikely to be a unreasonably big kid. As you age, the only thing that changes is your activity levels. Youâre probably eating the same things, maybe even less if you actually tracked but you DO do much less outside of punching in and out of work so of course your weight increases. Take one week to track everything you consume and you might be surprised as to what impact that really has on your body.
3) Youâve just got good genes
- My biggest pep peeve because most people donât even do enough to where you can even talk about genetics. Focus on building good habits, going to bed and waking up at the same time, drinking water, hitting your protein goals, intense workouts. When you do that for a prolonged period of time THEN maybe you can talk about genetics

Muscle is built from strength training and you consume protein to aid in muscle building process to build new muscle
But itâs hard to do the above, without carbs. Without carbs, energy levels are lower, output is therefore less and therefore performance in the gym is đ
So maybe itâs not your starving deficit, maybeâŚjust maybe those carbs you avoid (even though you smoke and drink and everything else inbetween) are holding you back
In my experience itâs irrelevant. I never found one rep maxâs effective in putting on size and I never found countless reps effective if it felt easy
Hereâs what actually matters âŹď¸
Stress. A combination of moderate weight, with moderate reps, that have you putting stress on your muscles and struggling toward that 8-10 rep range (if you want guidance). Thatâs what worked for me. Proof is in the pudding đđž
THREE REASONS WHY YOU DONâT SEE CHANGES IN YOUR BODY đ¨âŹď¸
1) Patience: health and fitness isnât a crash course. If you want to make it a lifestyle then you should embrace being in it for the long term. Give yourself time to go through the ups and downs, to rest, to make mistakes, thatâs the only way to measure progress
2) Consistency: whether itâs your training or your food, there needs to be a level of consistency to actually know what works. You learn nothing by being on and off with trends.
3) a training program: a solid program allows you to sculpt your body the way you want it. Donât do an hour of argue if you want to grow your chest, donât do arms three time a week and wonder why your legs are small.
Patience + consistency + the right program = results

THREE LIES ABOUT GETTING YOUR DREAM PHYSIQUE
