Thomas Thunder is a 17 year old drummer, musician and songwriter. New song Sunshine out now! Thomas is a Berklee College online student, in his 3rd semester, pursuing his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Film Scoring. Thomas began taking Berklee College online courses at 14 years-old, and he has achieved both a Berklee College Professional Drum Certificate and a Berklee College Professional Music Theory and Composition Certificate. Thomas began songwriting at nine years old, and by 14 years-old, he released his debut album The Pharaoh’s Temple in September 2021. Thomas also plays bass guitar, upright electric bass, keyboards and guitar. Thomas is also a member of The Providence Drum Troupe and is an assistant music instructor at School of Rock. He has also been a Mensa member since five years old.

I’m happy to share that I have received my Berklee College Professional Music Theory and Composition Certificate. I’m entering my 3rd semester in Berklee College Online Bachelor’s of Arts in Music Composition for Film, TV and Games.

I also have a Berklee College Professional Drum Certificate, as drumming is my primary instrument, but my love for music theory, composition, and playing other instruments (bass, keyboard, uptight bass, guitar) led me to taking these courses.

I am so happy to share that I’ve been accepted full time into Berklee College Bachelor’s of Arts in Music Composition for Film, TV and Games with Berklee Online. I finished high school in December 2023, almost 2 years early, and I’ll be starting my Bachelor’s program in April 2024. I’m so happy that I’ve been able to accomplish this goal, and will continue to pursue my passion for music, composition and performance.

For those who might be interested, here’s a quick background: I started taking Berklee college courses at 14 years-old, when I started high school. I’ve always been homeschooled, so I had the flexibility to take college courses while I finished high school. I’ll be finishing my 8th Berklee course this semester. I was able to finish high school at 16 years old, because being homeschooled I was able to move through the course work at
an accelerated pace, and I always continued courses through the summer.

I want to thank School of Rock Seekonk for all of their support and encouragement over the last 8 years. I want to especially thank my parents for encouraging me to pursue my dream.

Also, I have just finished a new song, and I’m in the process of getting everything recorded. Should be out by end of February.
