Last week I was looking at the Wasaga Triathlon registration wondering if I should take a chance on myself and sign up for the Olympic distance (rather than the sprint distance - which all my other races will be). I questioned whether or not I could swim 1.5km straight in open water. Swimming long distance is intimidating for most, myself included.
So imagine my surprise when A DAY LATER I pushed myself through a 3km swim, only stopping about 4 times to sip water. I let myself get into a bit of a meditation and once I found my rhythm it was as if I couldn’t stop.
Before this, my fastest 3km swim was 1:06:25. Yea that’s right, over 9 minutes difference!🤯 I’m actually shocked by how much my body has adapted in the last little while. My aerobic capacity is 🚀
So obviously I had to jump out of the water and take a photo because this is a moment I really want to remember. I’m so proud… and excited!
