Hey everyone! Burning Earth Chris reporting in.

So, in mid-November I got COVID. In the first week of December my dayjob hit me with 60 hour weeks. And just when I was starting to feel better, bronchitis took a swipe at me. I have been sick and very, very tired for several weeks.

Suffice to say I've barely had time to catch my breath (both literally and metaphorically).

I think I'm going to have to put a pause on animating Sons of Centauri until after Christmas. But as a thank you to all of you for being so patient, I'm planning to share some screenshots next week of the short film as it stands now.

There's a lot to do on my end yet, and I'm anxious to get back to work on it, and I'm sorry I don't have better news at the moment -- it is legitimately killing me that I have to wait to keep working on this, especially when it's come so close to completion -- but I hope that screenshots of the film will hold you guys over until things improve on my end. Keep an eye out for them! Talk soon!

BREAKING NEWS! I am planning to launch a second, supplemental channel to Burning Earth Productions early next year. We are currently in pre-production with content to be produced. More details will be forthcoming after the holiday season is over.

I won't be abandoning this channel and am still planning to produce content for it, but suffice to say, this second channel is an idea I've been toying with for a while and I think the time is right to get to work on it. Plus I've needed something to do while waiting on image sequences to finish cooking in Blender and being unable to record LP videos as a result of that. 😅

I'll provide one large hint as to this new channel's content: if you are fans of Mac's Lore, Spacedock, The Templin Institute, or similar channels, I think you will like what I've got planned for this second channel.

Hello, everyone! Burning Earth Chris here.

I just wanted to pop in and say thank you all so much for your enthusiastic responses to Sons of Centauri's announcement. While this channel's following is still relatively modest, your support has meant the entire universe to me.

I've had a vision of Sons of Centauri for a few years now, and I wish I could put into words how exciting it's been animating it and bringing every shot to life. There's a lot of love and a lot of heart and a lot of passion going into this short film, and I hope that it shows in the final product.

I mentioned back when I showed the first screenshot of the project that I had lost my job when I first started animating it. These past five months being unemployed have been emotionally taxing, but animating this short film has kept me sane and given me a reason to keep going.

Thankfully, I have managed to secure employment again and I start next week; this also has the unfortunate side effect of updates becoming more sporadic, but rest assured, I'm going to keep working on Sons of Centauri behind the scenes.

I also want to give a tremendous thank you to the two people who have donated to the Burning Earth Productions Ko-Fi page this past year, Roz and a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. I'm immensely grateful beyond words for your support and generosity.

On the subject of the Ko-Fi page, I'm trying to come up with a way to showcase where we are with Sons of Centauri to people who want to show their support for the channel financially. I don't plan on reopening our Patreon page because Patreon acts primarily as a subscription service, whereas Ko-Fi allows for people to make one-time donations if they can spare it, and to be frank, I don't feel comfortable opening a subscription model to people who want to support the channel if I can't provide regular updates at least month-by-month.

I will keep you all posted on how things are going behind the scenes when I have a new update to share. Hope to be in touch soon!
