I just got the sweetest text IN THE WORLD. I want to share it with all of you. I know it will make your day just like it made mine! In order to see what I got though, you have to go to Because of Bdubb. They just uploaded a version of what I was texted on Blakeās page. If you love America šŗšø then you do NOT want to miss it! While you are there, go ahead and like and follow his page. Leave him a comment and tell him how proud of him you are, and maybe tell him that his Gigi sent you there. š
I canāt wait till yāall see it!! God bless America, and God bless our precious Blake!
Everyone always comments how the Garrett genes are strong. Chris looks just like Harold, Griffin looks just like Harold did at that age, itās uncanny. This morning Blake was watching Bluey and he had his little legs crossed. I looked over at Harold, and wouldnāt you know it? I had to snap a pic to share with my friends.
You all know that it doesnāt take much to get me excited, especially if it saves me money. Look what I was able to get gas for today. I donāt know what gas costs where you live, but itās one of those things that you have to have, but want to save on every chance you get. Thatās why I love Walmart+. Besides getting my items shipped for free, I always get 5 cents (and sometimes 10 cents) off a gallon when I get gas at Walmart, Exxon, Mobil, and Murphy gas stations. The gas savings alone are worth the membership fee for me! Not to mention, you get 25% off digital orders at Burger King every day (Griffin sure uses that perk), free pharmacy delivery, and you can choose between Paramount+ or Peacock! These are just a few of the perks. If you arenāt interested, thatās totally fine. But if you are, I will be including a link where you can sign up for a trial membership. You can cancel any timeā¦but I bet you wonāt want to!
Happy Tuesday friends! Weāre in the middle of a cold spell in Alabama. Since Harold and I have started walking, I am noticing things outside more than I normally would. The other day I was looking at this flower bed thatās at the end of our house. I thought to myself, āAll of that dead and old is ugly. I need to clean it out.ā Then I looked closer. Some of my things are peeking out. They arenāt ready to bloom yet, they havenāt grown to their full potential yet.
Yet.
Even in the middle of the cold, something is happening underground. They arenāt dead! They are just dormant. Theyāre waiting for the right time to bloom. Isnāt that like us? When things donāt look like we want them toā¦donāt give up hope. Remember āyet.ā
Things arenāt working out YET. This doesnāt look like I thought it would YET. God hasnāt moved for my situation YET.
Donāt look at your āflowerbedā and call it all dead and trash just yet. Something is happening below the surface that you canāt see, and this may just be your dormant season. Today, I challenge you to put a āyetā where you have been putting a period. Your situation isnāt over. Itās just a growing time.
There was a long, long time when Blake was classified as āfailure to thrive.ā Look at him now! Every single day with him is a gift and an odd defied. He continues to astound everyone and to prove that Godās plans are far greater than any of man.
Happy Monday, friends! Since we left right after church yesterday to come to Chrisā, I didnāt get to go to our monthly womenās meeting last night. One of Amyās best friends, Ashley, is the new leader of our womenās ministry. I couldnāt wait for Amy to get home from the meeting so she could tell me about it. When I talked to her last night, she shared this with me, and I knew immediately that I would be sharing it with you.
On each of the tables, Ashley had a little jar of mustard seeds and a roll of tape. Ashley told them how all it takes is faith the size of a mustard seed. We hear and say that a lot. She had them find places in the Bible where this is mentioned, and place a single mustard seed beside the verse. It gives a visual to match the verse. I wanted to see what she was talking about, so I told her to text me pictures of what she did. Yāall. I love this! While we are down here, Iām going to the grocery store and getting some mustard seeds. I want to do this with my granddaughters, Chris and Amy. What a powerful reminder of what God asks for us in order for Him to move.
Have you ever seen this done before? I have seen jewelry with a mustard seed, but Iāve never thought to actually place one in my Bible. I love this. I knew my friends would love it as well. I think this is something that everyone should do. Iāve only shown 2 places where Amy put mustard seeds in her Bible (Matthew 17:20 & Luke 17:6). There are several other places where I believe we could do this. Hereās my challenge for you today. First - share with us where you feel that we could tape a mustard seed in our Bible as a reminder to us. Second - if you do this, snap a picture and share it in the comments. Believe me, we canāt share Godās word too much. Even if every one of us shares the same verse, itās ok! Thereās not such a thing as too much of Godās word. And if you have a situation where it seems hopeless or overwhelming - look at a mustard seed. Thatās the only amount of faith that you need.
Today, our Magnificent Minnow is proof that a mustard seedās faith is all that we need. He continues to defy the odds and astound all the specialists. With Blakeās determination matched with all of our mustard seeds and Godās power - there is no telling what our little minnow will do.
What a day! After church this morning, Harold and I hit the road heading to Louisiana. Tomorrow is Blakeās day! He is being honored as the MAGNIFICENT MINNOW for the month for his class at school. As you can see, he is resting up for his big day. He will probably have the biggest cheering section in the place, and I will certainly be sharing photos and videos for all of his fans on here. We love him so much, and we are so proud of him! As you can see, he sleeps with his vent hooked up at night, but it just functions like a CPAP. Little buddy has sleep apnea. I hope he is having the sweetest dreams and I cannot wait to share his big day tomorrow with you all. If you arenāt already following his page, please do so! You can keep up with him at Because of Bdubb
The other picture is a glance of what the girls and I are doing. Chris recently found some old home movies, so we are watching videos from 2010. HOW was that 16 years ago? I sure do love getting to be here with our Louisiana family.
I hope you had a wonderful day. Stay tuned for videos from the real star of our family tomorrow. Blake, our BDubb, is everyoneās hero. We are so proud of him, and so glad that he is ours!
This is the day the Lord has made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it. God woke me this morning, blessing me with another precious day. Itās a brand new day, a new week, and a new year full of fresh mercies. Please know how deeply I appreciate each and every one of you. May your day be filled with joy and gratitude.
Whatās the weather like where you are? During the night last night it stormed. Our rain gauge showed that we got 3.5 inches of rain over night! Itās been close to 70 degrees for the last few days. The temperature is going to drop all night, and the high tomorrow is supposed to be 47 degrees. Thereās one thing about Alabama weather - you can go from one extreme to another on a dime.
These pictures are from a year ago today. We almost never get snow, so when we do itās a really big deal. A year ago today we had a rare 6 inches of snow. We always get so excited about snow. When these pictures came up on my memories, I knew that I had to share them with my friends. Whatās the weather like where you are? āļøš”ļøš„ļøš¦ļøš§ļøāļø
Good morning, sweet friends! Itās Friday! HOW is it already January 9th? It still feels like Christmas was just yesterday. Before we know it it will be time to work outside in the flowers and garden, and I am ready!
I need my friends to settle a debate for me. First I need to explain. Amy was over here the other day when I was unloading the dishwasher. She was helping me and she said, āMom, do you always do your silverware like this?ā I asked her what she meant. She said, āUpside down. You have all the handles pointing up.ā I asked her how she loaded her dishwasher, and she told me that the only things she puts in upside down are the knives. Everything else she loads the other way.
Fast forward to yesterday and I called her and told her to text me a picture of her utensils in her dishwasher. I told her that I needed it because I was going to conduct a poll. The fist picture is my dishwasher, and the second is Amyās. Hereās where I need my friends. Letās have a little fun on this Friday. Help me out here. How do you load your utensils? Like Mama Sue (the right way), or like Amy? Leave me a comment and let me know.
PS: This is all in good fun. There is really no right or wrong way. I certainly donāt want to start a fork war. š«š“
