We had an absolute blast this past weekend at our Dance Your Way to Health event 💃💗

From an energizing dance class to inspiring conversations around breast health and wellness, this event was all about movement and community. Guests sipped on handcrafted mocktails, enjoyed delicious lunch provided by Claudine’s Kitchen and meaningful discussions led by Breast Surgical Oncologist, Dr. Lauren DeStefano and Breast Radiologist, Dr. Jason McKellop, who shared valuable insights on breast cancer risk and early detection.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, danced with us, and helped create such a positive and empowering atmosphere. We love bringing people together for events that encourage women to prioritize their health while having fun along the way. Until next time! 🩷

Meet Katrina Burkhardt, Patient Navigator at Breastlink Tarzana 🩷

Katrina is here to support patients through every stage of their breast health journey, from screening and diagnosis to treatment and recovery. She helps coordinate care, answer questions, and guide patients through what can often feel like an overwhelming process, making sure they feel informed and supported every step of the way.

With over 28 years of experience in surgery, including working closely with patients undergoing breast reconstruction, Katrina brings both clinical expertise and compassion into her role. Her personal connection to cancer allows her to truly understand what patients and their families may be going through, helping her provide care that goes beyond just logistics.

At Breastlink Tarzana, having a dedicated Patient Navigator means patients never have to navigate their care alone, there’s always someone in their corner.

“Even as a young girl, I knew I wanted to be a doctor…”

For Dr. Lisa Guerra, inspiration came from her grandmother, an Army nurse and educator who encouraged her passion for medicine and believed surgery would be the right path. That encouragement, along with her grandmother’s own breast cancer journey, ultimately led Dr. Guerra to pursue a career in breast surgical oncology.

Today, Dr. Guerra is a board-certified, breast-dedicated surgeon at Breastlink Newport Beach, with expertise in areas such as oncoplastic surgery, intraoperative radiation therapy, and the management of high-risk patients. She has also contributed to breast cancer research and clinical trials, helping advance care for women in our community.

This Women’s History Month, we’re proud to celebrate the physicians whose dedication and compassion continue to shape the future of women’s health. 💗
