Everything I discussed in my previous video is happening at such a rapid rate. If you want to know the full degree to which the African continent will be negativity impacted by Trump existing WHO and USAID freezing all funds and programmes, then watch below.
I also emphasis what this will mean for women and children's healthcare since we already know compelling evidence that states that despite living longer than men on average, women spend 25% more of their lives in poor health (World Economic Forum)
French President Emmanuel Macron has once again stirred controversy with his remarks about African nations, particularly in the Sahel region. In his latest address to French ambassadors, Macron expressed frustration over what he sees as a lack of gratitude from Sahel countries for France's military interventions.
His comments, suggesting that these nations might have lost their sovereignty without France’s support, are both audacious and inaccurate because of how France has neither the means nor the capacity to help Africa maintain its sovereignty Rather, France is amongst the imperial powers that have served to undermine our sovereignty by creating instability.
So, what can this growing anti-French sentiment in Africa tell us about its implications for the future of Franco-African relations. Well, let's discuss this and so much more in my latest episode.
Did you know that kidnappings in South Africa have surged by over 250% in the last decade!
As the world's rape capital, South Africa sees its women and children targeted in many ways, including kidnapping and human trafficking. This graph reflects offenses against children, in just 2019/2020 alone.
This is a posing threat to us all so let's talk about simple preventive measures that women and children can take, especially now that the kids are going back to school. You can find this in my recent video - let's stay safe yall🫶🏽
There is a lot more to this situation than the outcry over President Traoré carrying a weapon to a formal diplomatic function. The radicalism of Traoré really makes me think of Sankara. I'm thinking a lot about Franz Fanon's Black Skin, White Masks because of their audacious and straightforward approach to government. The reason for this is because both of these presidents exemplified a very distinct style of leadership that questioned the current quo and actually allowed us to begin considering what alternative leadership would entail for our people. In my most recent video, I go over all of this and much more!
