2nd Hand Home Theater

I've recently tried to come up with new ideas to expand the content on my channel. I'm trying to think of things that won't need me to sink a bunch of money into them to get them going (like buying equipment to review). So, I present the following idea to everyone and I'd like to know if you'd be interested in it:

A series of videos, similar to Format Face-Off, but instead of comparing different formats of the same film, myself and Mike, will look at a single release of a movie, but on each one of my projectors. We talk about what we see, similarities & differences (I'll include b-roll), and then decide on which projector we liked better for that film. Even though I said I don't want to spend a bunch of money, if these videos did well, I'd consider finding a 3rd projector to compare to my current ones.

Please take a minute and let me know what you think. If the poll looks favorable, these videos will start getting added to the channel soon.

There was a 4th of July themed Format Face-Off planned for this week, but I messed up the video. So that video will get pushed aside and redone at a later date. Instead, I'm going to put out 1 or 2 other 4th of July themed videos before this weekend.

I don't mention this stuff too often as it's not my target area here on YouTube, but for anyone interested in donating to a good cause, the Springfield IL Animal Protection League suffered severe damage from a tornado on Wednesday evening. Thankfully no animals were harmed, but they now must relocate over 150 pets. They are in need of donations to help fund not only the rebuilding process, but also fund the relocation of all the animals.

This isn't my local shelter, but Springfield is just north of where I live and I'm a sucker for helping out animals. If anyone is interested in helping out, I have the donation link below.

I have a new Format Face-Off dropping along with this post today. Mike & I switched up the structure of the video, and maybe I'm a bit biased, but I think this is one of the best videos I've put out. I hope everyone enjoys it and I plan on keeping this structure for future Face-Off videos.

2nd Hand Home Theater

11 years ago today, I got my first home theater projector & screen, a VVME 720p LED Projector & 100" pull down screen. It was such an awesome upgrade at the time for about $275, despite the projector being rather lackluster when looking back at it.

Flash forward 11 years, and now I've got these high end DLP projectors and the largest screen I fit in my space, plus this channel. Home theater is as much about the journey as it is the destination.
