In Exodus lore there is a Remnant Artifact that can be found called a "Nightmare Factory." Long story short, a thumbnail size transmitter device is hidden in a place where the chosen victim spends much of their time, such as near their bed. This device keys into the neural impulses of its victim, exploring their psyche, & even generating impulses in their brain to experiment with precisely what concepts provoke the most primal fear.

Over a period of time, this data is transferred back to an alien horror looking machine that slowly begins to fabricate & engineer a life form tailored to the innermost fears & horrors of the victim. Throughout this process the victim experiences a growing sense of unease as they suffer from extreme anxiety & a lack of sleep due to an unusual amount of nightmares.

When the nightmare creature's development is complete, it is then released from its chamber with the sole purpose of finding the human it was created to haunt. Absolutely terrifying but I love it. Will do a lore video on many of these topics at some point!

My personal GOTY & why list for the last 6 years. What is yours?

2019 - Outward: It's indie, it's low budget, it's janky, but damn it was made by true RPG fans. The devs really hit hard on classic RPG elements that many modern day studios were scrapping.

2020 - BG3 early access: It was already basically a game in & of itself & I could see the crazy potential for 1.0. I would give this year to Cyberpunk but it had a rough launch & I didnt play until years later.

2021 - Solasta: I played mostly old games during this time so I don't have a ton to go off of but Solasta stands out. It was a fun passionate indie 5e game that gave us something similar to BG3 but also very different. Pathfinder WotR was also amazing but I didn't actually finish it so I'm going with Solasta.

2022 - Elden Ring: Challenging, dark, fun, & to experience a FromSoft game open-world style was pretty awesome.

2023 - Baldur's Gate 3: Don't need to say much as you already get it. I will say Hogwarts Legacy did hit hard with the nostalgia factor despite its many many flaws, but nothing even comes close to BG3.

2024 - Dragon's Dogma 2: Perhaps a divisive one, but I found the open-world exploration in that game to be some of the BEST out there. It has its shortcomings, but man I had so much fun. Looking back I do really wish I could be saying Dragon Age for 2024, but yeah that didn't turn out the way I hoped lol

2025 - Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Right up there with BG3 as one of the best games ever made. The most immersive medieval RPG on the market with such a great cast of relatable real feeling characters.

With all that said, I don't really play a ton of games each year so my list to choose from is rather small. I'm fairly selective & somewhat picky with what I choose to spend my most valuable resource on! (time)

Live stream viewers, all of my time is currently going to playing my review copy of Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon. Will have a ton of vids coming out for that game after embargo lifts. Should be back to a more normal streaming schedule next week. I have not forgotten about my Oblivion run (or clair obscure or baldurs gate 3 or kcd3 dlc :-D).

Big thanks to everyone who has been watching the Oblivion streams! Didn't expect to have this many people following along for a game I have never really covered on the channel before. This just solidifies to me that as we approach TES6 I'll likely be diving deep into Elder Scrolls content which of course means a long immersive lore series at some point in the future pre TES6 🙏
