I feel extremely discouraged at the moment. For three reasons mostly: 1) This photo is the temperature of the office where I work and make videos. The AC unit is from the 70s and isn’t capable of cooling upstairs. This makes getting things done very difficult.
2)Right now it feels like there’s a large slump in media. Normally when I’m at a loss for something new and exciting I check Game Theory, New Rockstars, or lets players to see what cool hidden gems are out. However it seems Game Theory is mostly just feature length ads for games people don’t care about (Clash of Critters/ Dark Pals/ Sword x Staff) or really old topics like Among Us. Meanwhile every New Rockstars video is about the Doomsday trailer nobody has seen yet, and while there are some good indie games (Meccha Chameleon, Mole, etc) they aren’t really concepts I can make into videos.
3) There seems to be a flood of Lego creators who are using AI to script and edit their videos. I made a joke about it in my Toy Story video, but afterwards I’ve seen dozens of “I Built [X] from Toy Story in Lego” videos that are almost identical to one another, from the builds, to showing the same clips, down to the overtly AI generated thumbnail. (If I see another thumbnail of a Buzz minifigure with intricate drone wings that never show up in the video, I’m going to lose it.) It sucks when I see large creators in the same space go down the “slop” route.
I guess the best way to sum things up is that a lot of youtube feels very disingenuous at the moment. Also it’s very hot in here.
(I’ve ordered a portable AC unit for the office, but I don’t really know how to fix the other two things.)
This is just an update on where things are at, as I always try to post a large video at least every two weeks.
If you've seen my shorts about making book boxes for videogames, I have good news and bad news! Good news is I found the perfect size that can fit the entire case snuggly, and has a magnetic latch! Bad news is every single one showed up like this. 😭
"LEGO® Batman™: Build the Legacy of the Batmobile"
Over the decades many people have taken on the mantle of "Batman." Even the Joker has donned the cape and cowl! This design is based on the Lego Batman Movie's Joker "filling in" while the caped crusader is away from Gotham.
Most Batmobiles are dark and monochrome, so I really wanted to design a Batmobile that was: 1) once a normal Batmobile 2) modified and painted by the Joker in his signature "I'm-going-to-put-my-face-on-it" Jokermobile style. 3) as bright and colorful as possible.
My Lego Ideas Submission for the Pokemon Trading Card Challenge is finally published!
Designers had to create a set of a Pokemon card (37x26 studs) featuring their favorite Pokemon from the list provided.
This was my big project from last week. Sorry it took so long to get published (I had put a text caption on one of the images, so I had to resubmit it without the text, totally my bad).
The contest ends on May 6th for those who would like to enter. Lego's Review Board will select five of their favorites and then it's up to fans to vote on the winner!

Sorry about the lack of shorts this week! I've been spending the time doing a bunch of home construction that I had been putting off.
The tally for "total number of times I have mangled a finger" is currently at 8.

While there isn't a long-firm video this week, there is a large Lego project I've worked on, that should hopefully make an appearance soon!
Just gotta wait for the chain of command and hopefully yall can see it in a couple days!

Good news, Bad news
Bad news is it seems I have torn a rather sizable hole in the muscle of my leg. Now I have been exiled to "rest in bed"
3/10 experience, would not recommend.
The good news is the likelihood of the sun consuming the earth today is quite low.
