The age of steam, for most people it's old technology but to us it's the golden age of the railways.
Welcome to my channel and if your a fan of steam engines then you've come to the right place. Despite being one of the younger generation of railway enthusiasts im a huge fan of steam locomotives and steam traction. On this channel there is a mix of both video's that were shot at heritage railways during either normal working days or even during special events like a spring or autumn steam gala. There is also video's of railtours from both lineside/station locations aswell as from on-board.
Enjoy my video's and don't forget to hit the subscribe button for all the latest video's on the channel.

I'm not surprised that the exhibition train shorts have pulled in massive view figures within 24 hours. Wonder what it will be like around 48 hours as they are still rising.

As a final update for 2025 I hope you have enjoyed the year and look forward to 2026. Highlights for me this year include the climb up Shap behind 45596 Bahamas aswell as both the Spring and Autumn steam galas at the Severn Valley Railway in April and September which featured a good selection of visiting locomotives which included during the spring gala 45627 Sierra Leone (45699 Galatea disguised) making a rare heritage railway visit.
The highlight of the year however was attending The Greatest Gathering event in Derby on 2nd August as part of the Railway 200 celebrations.

2025 now draws to a close and it's been a good year gala wise attending both of the Severn Valley Railway's steam galas in April "Spring Steam Gala" and September "Autumn Steam Gala" of this year. Saw a good selection of visiting locos at the gala including 6880 Betton Grange, 45596 Bahamas, 45627 Sierra Leone (45699 Galatea in disguise) & 47298 alongside other visiting steam engines and the home residents.
2026's galas at the Severn Valley are now on the calendar with the Spring Steam Gala due to take place from 16th to 19th April & the Autumn Steam Gala which takes place from 17th to 20th September. No gala guests have been announced yet but it looks like we should be seeing the operational debut of GWR Large Prairie no 4150 in preservation following restoration from scrapyard condition.

Due to a massive lack of video footage from when I was travelling on-board "The Farewell to Steam" railtour, clips from the day will instead be uploaded rather than one whole video. This would have been done earlier but over the last week I've been recovering from ruddy covid.

During Friday night of the gala I decided to experiment with the night vision setting on my camcorders and I've released this footage in a seperate video. This video shows the night action at Bridgnorth.

Day 1 of the gala which was actually the preview day is now over and the full gala kicks off tomorrow. One of the guest locos 47298 is actually a loco that briefly in preservation spent time at the now long gone Steamport Southport museum. Here's a shot of the loco on Bridgnorth MPD.

The gala is due to commence in less than 48hrs time and this is going to be my final multiday gala trip for 2025, my provisional plan for 2026 is in the process of being planned out but I can at the moment confirm that I will be attending the Severn Valley's spring steam gala in 2026.
With the upcoming gala what loco are you most looking forward to seeing run at the event.
