UPDATE: Dropped the fuel tank again this morning, firstly capping off the short fuel hose with a bolt to prevent spillage. Undid filler neck, removed tank and drained off fuel. Removed locking ring, sender unit. Cleaned up mating surface, greased seal and put back together. Placed outside, pouring in 5L of fuel and sat..and watched. Saw another small leak. Drained, disassembled and found the "ears" that the ring pinches against were widened? so as a result ring would not pinch up tight enough. A gentle tap with a copper hammer knocked in the tabs and I was able to get a much better seal. Repeated procedure - no leaks. Put back together, put 5L back in and ran up. Realising 5L may not be enough to cause a leak due to the level, drove to Tescos and put in another 5L. Driven home, checked for leaks and.... touch wood, seems to be sealing. Will monitor over the next few days!.

UPDATE 10/11/25 : Since uploading the fuel pump fail video a friend and mobile mechanic managed to remove the battery tray allowing greater access to the pump and has done the job for me. Shout out to Adams Autos for the swift service!.

What with all the heavy rain over the last few days I thought I'd better check the drains on my recently aqquired #rover75. After watching a rather helpful video by ‪@HubNut‬ I removed the scuttle trim and was able to inspect the area, which was luckily dry. I poked a bit of wire through the drain, poured water and watched it run through quite happily. All back together and given it a wash and wax.
