Out with the old Prius, in with the new...well I don’t know, dammit!
While I love having the Prius as a camping option for myself, I have been hard-core looking for a new conversion project— One that could much more easily accommodate two people, yet still be fuel economy friendly.
I am quite interested in making a video on that topic. But how to structure it? I was thinking something like “best fuel efficient conversion vehicle options for under $8k” I originally spent about that amount on my Prius back in 2015.
I went to look at a shuttle bus Monday morning and was really considering buying it to remodel as a travel vehicle. It was 15 years old and only had 32,000 miles on it. The owner was an assisted-living/nursing home center and it was only used on special occasions. The price was really great The price was really great, but there were some issues, The worst of which caused a soft spot in the floor. The other big bummer was how there is no passenger seat next to the driver, which would put a damper on traveling with the girlfriend.
So I’m in a dangerous place right now. My new job allows me to afford things again, and I am itching for that sweet sweet road. On the other side of the coin, I am working stupid hours and would probably not have any time to commit to such a big project.
Would it be disappointing to you guys to see me abandon my Prius roots for something large? 🙃
