Boston is an American rock band formed in 1976 in Boston, Massachusetts. The band was founded by Tom Scholz, an MIT-educated engineer and musician, along with vocalist Brad Delp and other members. Boston is known for its distinctive sound, characterized by soaring harmonies, intricate guitar work, and a blend of rock and progressive elements.

Their self-titled debut album, "Boston," released in 1976, became a massive success and is one of the best-selling debut albums in history. It included hits like "More Than a Feeling" and "Peace of Mind." The band's sound featured Scholz's innovative use of technology, particularly the Rockman amplifier, which contributed to their signature guitar sound.

Boston released several more albums over the years, including "Don't Look Back" (1978), "Third Stage" (1986), and others. While they didn't match the extraordinary success of their debut, they maintained a dedicated fan base. Tragically, Brad Delp, the band's iconic vocalist, passed away in 2007.

Despite lineup changes and long gaps between albums, Boston continued to tour and record new music. Their music remains a significant part of classic rock history, known for its melodic hooks and technical craftsmanship in the rock genre.
